Hi everyone, I'm starting this thread so we can share information about the CAS, the program we should pass in order to gain registration in Queensland, Australia. I have passed all four components of the CAS challenge test and it can be done with hard work and a lot of prayer, you do not really need agencies for this. For starters, the challenge test is a 70 item test with multiple choice questions, occasionally with identification items also.

Hi joeturtle, thanks for your posts, I'm learning a lot from you guys. Im just concerned with my review in preparation for the challenge test. Though, I'm still on the process of submitting my QNC1 to QNC, I'm anticipating the challenge test. I had my IELTS exam scheduled this March and so I have to resign from my current job effective this March too, to focus on my reviews. I'm desperate and lost about resources/review materials for the challenge test so I emailed CAS and QNC for any suggestions and fortunately they responded to my enquiry and suggested 4 books which corresponds to each part of the challenge test And I had to purchase these online yesterday. Kindly don't get tired posting updates to coach and/or guide us throughout the process. May God bless you back;)

Hi there, I wish you well in your preparation for CAS challenge test. Its a very good thing that you are preparing for it early on because it will increase your chances of passing the 4 components and save money by not taking the education modules. Could you post the 4 books you mentioned for the benefit of those who are yet to take the exam?

Hi, the next step I will hurdle is the Part B one-day clinical challenge. I hope someone can share their experience with this exam. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

CAS has two options, the challenge test or the education modules. With regards to the education modules, they recommend 12 weeks for each of the 3 modules and 1 month for the clinical module. But I think someone posted in the other forums that they finished the modules much faster than the recommended time. Also, the modules are ONLY offered in distance education mode, except the clinical module which should be done in Queensland.

yes true...you might just have the first module first and after completing it, you can now asses yourself if you can handle the 2 remaining modules at the same time. but then, you can complete them one by one.... :)

joeturtle, did you took the test b or the clinical module?

can you give us a sample question (not necessarilly the question that you have encountered) of the test exam? just for us to know on how they formulate exam questions...thanks.

hi joeturtle, i just want to ask how you paid for your challenge test? i prefer to pay though credit card but the application form provided for CAS doesn't ask for any details for credit card payment. i hate to waste money on postage by mailing incomplete application details. i'd appreciate it if you could answer my query.

So this CAS test. When was it implemented in QLD and are you aware of the background behind it? What support does the hospital give to you to complete and how does it map to across different nursing specialties.

hi carmina,

in most cases in australia, after they have received your application form/enrolment form, CAS-CQU will contact you for your payment details...thats the time you will give to them your credit card informations...

Hi everyone!

This is a very timely thread for me. I specifically joined this forum so that I could properly inquire my questions to you guys.

I'm from Cebu, Philippines. Lately, there are agencies popping up doing infoseminars, stating they are offering to bring the CAS exams here. But the least that I could do to alleviate the amazing costs of this Ozi investment, I'd like to try and gather information about trying to register to QNC and take the necessary exams without these lucrative agency fees.

Before I go about applying to the Queensland Nursing Council, I'd like to know what happens after one receives their recommendation to take the CAS exams. Is it like in NCLEX, wherein there's a Pearson Vue in Makati with which you must register with after you receive your "Eligibility?" If so, where is their office located, and how can they be contacted?

Thank you very much for your prompt responses. May all our dreams come true. :paw:

hmmm... it seems it would be easier to just pay through check than credit card... thanks for the info

if the QNC will approved your application, they will send you an enrolment form that you yourself will have to fill up and send it to CAS-CQU...and then once CAS received it they will organize the exam schedule and location for you...
