To all my UK allnurses friends......the July visa bulletin shows visas are now current! I know Ann (ann h) and Claire (english_nurse) have their cases complete and just waiting for packet 4, as is my niece in the UK. Not sure where Anna (silverdragon) is up to and Rebecca (RGN1) but I'm really excited for you all that it appears progress is being made. Looking forward to hearing how you all feel about it.
Oh I do hope so Claire, it's about time you had some good news :icon_hug:Did they say what they'd based their news on? Did they get some indication from the Embassy?
Anyway.....you're up late aren't you?
im at blooming work;)
miss-using nhs resources on my break lol
well, im not sure what they based it on i expect its their lawyers opinion, it wasnt them direct that told me it was my hospital
so its probably all chinese whispers
be nice if it were true, im sure we were saying these things this time last year though..............
am off to bed nite x
Sounds like all of you are 'chomping at the bit' to get to the USA. Not much doubt in my mind that you will like it there. I was there for 7 years. Now I'm back here in my native Canada. Not loving the working conditions much. Would desperately love to go back to the US. Seems though, I've met a man. Hence, my interest in registration in UK. THAT seems like alot of work. Born, raised and educated in Canada, the English speaking part of the country and it seems I need an English Proficiency test!? What's that all about? Is is just another money-grab as are many of the 'hoops' in getting to the US? Let me just pay the money and get on with it. Stop wasting all our valuable time! All we want to do is go to work and enjoy life. (Just a little FYI for those going to the US, life as a travel nurse is wonderful if you don't have committments)

Taking the English language test is the NMC way of making sure nurses who come to the UK can speak English and have done it this may so to make it fair on all as plenty of nurses come to the UK and no one can understand. Also work permit now hard to get if not from the EU and employers have to prove that they have tried everything to get someone from the UK/EU before elsewhere in the world. Plus a lot of hospitals suffering from financial problems and laying staff off and using less agency staff but workload is more
