Fellow student RNs,
I'm getting ready to begin my second professional career as a registered nurse. I had been a teacher for nearly 11 years and hold a master's degree in education. Although I maintain an active license to teach, in a matter of a few months I will be taking the boards and interviewing for my first position in the medical field. I want to make a strong impression and feel that my background in education may be a significant highlight as nursing has such a strong patient education component. I'm looking for input from other individuals that may have found themselves in the same position and how they made connections with previous degrees and newly acquired degrees in the medical field.
