Columbia University MDE 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone who has been accepted into the next starting cohort for this program! :D

I am starting this super early because I have already begun to freak out lol.

Is anyone applying for the MDE MDE/DNP or MDE/PHD program for 2017?

This is my dream program !!

I am prepping for the GRE at this point which I am taking in August. It has been a long arduous road for me to say the least and I am ready to send my app off with a prayer. Any advice from current/previous students of this program or applicants welcome! And to my fellow applicants what other programs are you applying to? And most importantly good luck to everyone. The application opens August of 2016 :D

Waiting does suck...February feels so far away

@raellagr YES!! I'm in the same boat! I emailed, but received no response. I honestly think they're just really disorganized and had way too many fnp applicants this year. (Penn)

@UCSBalum okay PHEW! I've also been calling obsessively and I've heard that they're disorganized from previous years but.... this is still annoying haha. Now at least I know I'm not alone in this!

I finally received the email on Monday that my application passed the initial admissions review. So I am guessing that's a good thing. Anyone else receive emails this week? Does anyone know if you are still granted an interview if you have outstanding classes? Which are not science classes, I have to re-do statistics since it's 6 years now since I've taken it :-( , and I have to take nutrition.

There are no interviews. Outstanding classes are fine as long as you have a plan to finish by start time.

I did not receive anything yet

Has anyone received an email about submitting their mid-term grades?

I'm finishing up my finals right now for three prerequisite classes! I've been working full-time and taking full-time classes. Holy smokes I can't wait until I'm done with this semester. I only have statistics left for the spring.

I've also decided to apply to the Johns Hopkins accelerated MSN program. Is anybody else applying there?

I'm applying to Johns Hopkins, too! I actually just went there for an information session and tour on Friday. Let me know if you have any questions that I might be able to answer!

Yeah! What can you tell me about their program that I don't already know? Haha. I live in Alaska so I'm not able to make it to their tour. I also am working crazy hours right now since I run the Food Bank warehouse up here and haven't been able to attend any of their virtual open houses.

What types of students do they typically look for? What are their *minimum* scores for admitted students (GRE, GPA, pre-reqs, etc.). What impressed you the most about their program?

Anything interesting that you think about.

Has anyone received an email about submitting their mid-term grades?

I submitted mine. All you do is get a PDF of your updated transcript, log into your Columbia application, and upload it.
