Hi AN fellows!
I know it is super early to start such a thread but I was hopping to connect with potential applicants/classmates for Columbia SON MDE 2018 program!
If you are applying to Columbia SON for summer 2018, let's share our experiences, ideas, thoughts and such!
Looking forward to hearing from some of you!
So...if I'm looking at this correctly, the MDE tuition is nearly $96k and the specialty portion is around $154k ($1930 per credit and ~80 units for the FNP track). How does everyone here feel about getting the DNP? It's definitely an added cost, since most specialty programs are $50k less. It seems there is no regulation surrounding the DNP degree and after talking to RNs and NPs, they say MSN's will be grandfathered into practice if ever the DNP becomes a standard :/
I know the COA is extreme.. I was doing the math and it would cost me around 290K for attending MDE/DNP...
Columbia has been my top choice cause I assumed that network and education will be top-notch but now I am more leaning towards Simmons ( FNP direct entry Master)I am from MA too...
IDK I want to become a FNP so bad, but the cost of my education and living expense gives me anxiety..
