Columbia School of Nursing MDE 2018

Published

Hi AN fellows!

I know it is super early to start such a thread but I was hopping to connect with potential applicants/classmates for Columbia SON MDE 2018 program!

If you are applying to Columbia SON for summer 2018, let's share our experiences, ideas, thoughts and such!

Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

It's just 3?

3 essays, 1 bio, and 1 special circumstances :)

Question for all [sorry if I asked this already!]: in calculating the total cost, do you count the cost for every credit we take? Or do you stop at 12 credits, as that's full time? Or is that only a thing for undergraduates?

wait, where is this? I did not see any essays..

@mma22664 yeah only 3 lol I was over exaggerating

When you are filling out the scholarship information there are 3 "essays" only 250 words max . They are on diversity, uncompensated service and leadership.

@NPDanie

Wow I am so sorry..I had no idea how/where to even send PMs and just saw yours..of course since I mostly follow along on here and respond minimally it won't let me DM you back.. though I think I'm close to meeting that minimum lol í ½í¸’ Does anyone know if theres a way around that, I feel bad I just saw a few messages I can't respond to!

Does anyone here also think the waiting period is more excruciating than the applying period? :D

Just 1 more month left. Hopefully we hear back in the beginning and not the middle of February as they anticipate.

Did decisions come out earlier last year?

Feb 2nd I believe

February...UGH

Hey everyone, I'm also applying for the program. Debating whether or not I should consider DNP program only because I want to do CRNA. I wish they offered MDE/CRNA in addition to MDE/DNP..

I was thinking the same thing! Since they don't offer the MDE/CRNA option, what path would you have to take to do CRNA after the MDE program? I'm assuming MDE, then a year off for RN ICU work, then the MS in anesthesia?
