Has anyone started a thread yet? The application is due in 174 days and as you can see I'm already obsessing.
Anyone else?!
Where is the on-campus housing form? I'm from MA so I doubt I live far enough to be considered priority for campus housing.
Thanks for all the neighborhood info! I looked around Craigslist last night. It's not terribly priced if folks were looking to go in on a 3-bed or something like that. And I'm sure rooms open up as students graduate and need to fill spots for summer/fall.
Hi -- this is the website: https://secure.cumc.columbia.edu/housing/single.php
But do you have to have your deposit submitted before applying?
Hi Snoozyd, My husband will be moving to Boston (cambridge) so we would HAPPILY accept any moving tips/renting info. I will be living with family in the Washington Heights area. Rentals up there are quite affordable (compared to the rest of the city) or even a bit further north, Marble hill if you're looking for cheap.
Hi Everyone! Congrats on all of the acceptances! I was also accepted for the ETP PNP program starting in May. I am finishing up my undergrad degree in Southern California and I was hoping to find a potential roommate or two to share an apartment near Columbia. I will not be able to attend the visiting day, so let me know if you are also looking for a roommate! Thanks :)
Is anyone else nervous about taking on $200,000 worth of debt? I am doing a comparison between Columbia's total cost of attendance AFTER scholarships vs my state school vs MGH.
Columbia's total cost of attendance: $200,000 after scholarships (based on very realistic estimates I've gathered from financial aid chats and talks with current students). Duration: 3 years.
MGH total cost: $98,000 after scholarships. Duration: 3 years and 3 months
Highly ranked state school total cost: $65,000, no scholarships, but still super low because it's a state school. Duration: 3 years and 3 months.
Basically, do you guys think an Ivy League reputation and 3 months saved is worth the $100,000+ price tag??

Yeah I submitted my on campus housing and they said they will notify us in early April. So that still gives us a month to figure out in case we didn't get housing on campus. I'm not sure how I would rank in the placement since I'm from Florida but maybe we can all walk around together during visiting day and explore a bit. I'm also FNP so would like to have a roommate that's at least in the same ETP program so we have identical schedules for the most part.
