Columbia ETP 2015

Published

Has anyone started a thread yet? The application is due in 174 days and as you can see I'm already obsessing.

Anyone else?!

Didn't get in, Congrats to all the people that did.

Its funny I actually work at Columbia in the Medical Center right now in research, all my doctors though i was a sure thing. I don't know how am i going to tell them, i think they will take it worst than me.

In for FNP!! See you March 13th!

Congrats everyone! Still waiting. Is there a date indicated for a final decision?

I got in for pediatric! Changed from psych, but thinking of changing back down the road. Congrats everyone!! I'll hopefully see all of you on visiting day!

In for Psych NP!!! Congratulations everyone!

Decisions are up! I was accepted into the ETP program, but not my specialty of choice (anesthesia)...the letter said to reapply for another specialty! So I'm thinking Adult Acute Care!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

In for FNP! Congrats to all

I had the same issue and just got off the phone with admissions. You can choose any other specialty (Peds, FNP, Adult Geront/Acute, Adult Geront/Primary, Psych) that has space, just not the one from which you were denied. Also, you can wait until the BSN portion of the program is over and reapply to the specialty to which you want admission. Finally, it is possible that space in your specialty could open up if not all who were admitted decide to matriculate--however, if this were to happen, it would most likely be by the time classes start.

I got in for Pediatric Primary Care! Congrats to the others who were accepted!

I'm in for midwifery!

Someone from the waitlist is going to be very happy if I get good news from Yale though. ;)

Oh, please let it be me. Just out of curiosity, DoulaMe, would you mind talking a little bit about your background in birthwork? I've been waitlisted (Penn), rejected (Yale), or partially accepted (Columbia) to the midwifery programs I've applied to, and I thought my credentials were alright: 1.5 years of doula work, background in reproductive health, women's issues, strong undergrad & prereq GPA. I guess it truly is one of the most competitive tracks.
