U.S.A. New York

Hey Y'all!

I'm getting ready to apply to the Columbia's ETP for 2010. I was just wondering who else was applying and what you were doing to make your application stronger! Also where else are you applying and what do your stats look like (GPA, GRE, experience, etc) ? I'm getting nervous as I start the whole application process and just thought I'd turn to the forums for some support and guidance!

I'm looking forward to sharing the journey with y'all! Hope to hear from you soon! :)

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one going a little nuts and checking email constantly and dreaming about it! I literally have dreams where I think, "I forgot to check my email! I need to check it now, and I check it in my dreams." I'll be glad when this is over, so I can start sleeping normally again!

Good luck all and may you get rid of the knots in your stomachs! :-)

Hi:

It is Wednesday and I am really getting anxious to find out when Columbia is sending out the decisions so I decided to email Jose Villa this morning. Jose informed me that it is his understanding that the notices will go out by the end of the week. So I guess they are really not ready to send the notices out. I think the decisions are made but they just have not uploaded them to send them to us. I guess this is torture for everyone.

Good Luck. Most of you will get in... It is a very large class.

Hi Dingras,

Thanks for letting us know. But end of the week! I can't take this anymore! Well, at least we know that it probably won't be today and I can stop checking my e-mail so often (yeah right!)

Thanks Dingras! I was just about to call and pester the office (yes, yes I know they said not to :) Maybe Thursday counts as end of the week?

I heard from the admissions office that they are working hard to implement a new financial aid system, and that they would like to send financial aid offers out along with acceptance letters, which is why they may need until the end of the week. That being said, I am still checking my email every 5 minutes!

Best of luck to everyone!

oh thanks for that info!! I wish they could just send two separate emails instead of trying to send it together - this suspense if killing me.......

Did everyone file the FAFSA? I haven't, didn't know if I had to. How can they send financial aid packages without knowing your financial situation. I think I'm going to hyperventilate.

hm...thats interesting. i haven't completed my FAFSA yet (waiting to do my 2009 taxes first). I wonder how they would send out aid offers without that information...

ha..hi Beth- I didn't see your post before i wrote mine.

seriously!!! i don't understand how they could sent out aid letters either!

ah!

Hi all,

So I was just at another school's interview and they mentioned you should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. It's ok to not have filed or have your w2, if you use your last '09 paycheck for income you should be ok (or this is my understanding). Columbia's website says....

"BS/MS (ETP) Students Students who have submitted the FAFSA by the February 15 can expect to receive award letters by March 1st. Students that have been selected for the Federal award will receive a tentative award that will be finalized once the process is complete."

Thanks for that info! I definitely need to do that!
