Columbia ETP 2010

Published

Hey Y'all!

I'm getting ready to apply to the Columbia's ETP for 2010. I was just wondering who else was applying and what you were doing to make your application stronger! Also where else are you applying and what do your stats look like (GPA, GRE, experience, etc) ? I'm getting nervous as I start the whole application process and just thought I'd turn to the forums for some support and guidance!

I'm looking forward to sharing the journey with y'all! Hope to hear from you soon! :)

I logged in just now and it still shows that my transcripts from the local community college where i took my pre-reqs are "not official," however, an admissions counselor told me that they did receive them. Weird.

But it did say in big bold letters at the top that my application was complete and "Your file has been forwarded to Admissions Committee for review"

So... I think they are still in the progress of updating the application status online for everyone. and I think if you're really worried about your own status, definitely e-mail them! they got back to me pretty quickly :o

good luck everyone!

Hey all! I am a long time reader of this page but haven't posted anything yet...But I checked my application status and it recently changed from incomplete to official. I finished my pre-reqs last semester and sent a transcript early on in January.

Just wanted to remind you all to check to see if they recently updated your application.

Good luck we should know something soon!!!

Specializes in future FNP!.

Hey everyone. So, I was reading the ETP thread from last year (I'm just DYING for some information!) and it seems that people found out Feb 3rd-4th. I guess Columbia sent out emails saying that decisions were available online.

We should hear this week... Good luck everyone!

Hi all! I've been really nervous/anxious about finding out the decisions this week. If the trend follows, we should find out by this Wed/Thurs. I have been checking my status to see if anything was online since two weeks ago, even though I knew it wouldn't be up yet. haha. good luck to everyone!!

Specializes in 1 day..International Public Health FNP.

It's good to know I'm not the only one anxious for a response. I'm with ya KHNurse, I've been checkig my status over the last couple weeks even though I know there won't be a decision yet. =P Hopefully the trend follows this year, too! Patience definitely is a virtue. :)

I can't wait to find out if I'm accepted or not, so I can think about applying to other schools!!! I just want to know.

Good luck, all!

just a couple more days... :)

keep your fingers and toes crossed! good luck!

So I'm new to this site but I'm definitely freaking out over schools and waiting for this decision. I just want to find out asap! Where else did anyone apply?

Hi Natalie. I am so nervous just like everyone else. I applied for the FNP track at Yale, Columbia, UCSF, and University Hawaii. They all required the same prereqs or none at all. Surprisingly University of Hawaii didn't required GRE. I interviewed at Yale and UCSF. My fingers are crossed for you. Good luck!

Hello all,

I only applied to Columbia. I live in the NY area and it is the best option for me considering the fact that I am not able to move for other schools. If I get in I will likely be one of the "elders" of the class--this is a second career for me. I have a Phd in anthropology--I'm an archaeologist. I wish everyone good luck....I expect we will hear in the next few days.

Hello everyone,

I also applied to Columbia and am looking forward to finding out if I'm in! I also applied to the University of Vermont, University of Southern Maine, MGHIHP, Northeastern, and Seattle University. I've been accepted to USM so far. Anyone else apply to any of these schools? Good luck to everyone!!!

I have a BS and MA from Columbia. I will be the oldest student ever excepted if they take me. I have a 4.0 in the sciences including physics , chemistry and anatomy . I do not do well on standardized tests and they rejected me last year . The asked me to re do some of the sciences so I took all the requriements plus all the anesthesia sciences over last year ( 4.) GPA). . I want to enroll in the ANP program. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope they will let me know either way soon.
