Columbia turned out to be similarly priced to Hopkins, and Columbia's in-person education is the best fit for my professional goals (the networking capacity is unparalleled imo)! I think I'll be ready to commit if I receive an RN job offer in the area to help me with the cost ? Hope you hear some good news from Columbia soon!

Currently struggling between Columbia and Johns Hopkins, they both are similarly priced but JHU was my top choice from the start.

First of all, congrats on having that decision to make! May I ask which factors are the most important for you in a DNP program? I am still finalizing my decision (leaning towards Columbia) and would love to hear what the thought process of someone else in my position is! Personally, I am looking at time (2.5 vs. 3-4 years), location (NYC vs. Baltimore), and scope of post-graduate opportunities.

Is anyone trying to do on campus housing? If so have you been able to get it?

I’m stuck between Hopkins and Columbia as well. And personally looking at the same things. Having lived in Baltimore before, I kind of don’t want to come back LOL. Would definitely say new york would be a better experience for sure

Still have not received mine...hopefully soon
Has anyone been able to access the "New Student Portal"? I was able to see information there up until a few days ago but now I can't see anything; just tabs that don't lead to any extra information.

Hi!
Congrats to everyone who got accepted!
I would like to apply to this program next year and I was wondering what everyone's stats were who were accepted into this program? and if anyone has any advice that would be great.
Thanks!
Does anyone know if Columbia offers any other scholarships/grants other than the 40k merit scholarship? The thought of the huge amount of debt is still weighing on me ?.
Also what has been everyone's though process with pros and cons about attending columbia? Please let me know, it would be really helpful. Thanks
I know I’m years late here but you’re absolutely correct. All the reasons you stated would’ve made me want to choose Columbia and I really wanted to plus I have family and friends in NY. However, I love that Johns Hopkins is known for their research and I love that it is online and I have the flexibility to live wherever, move wherever, and know that they can still place me for clinicals no matter what state I’m in for the most part. I was bummed that it was longer than Columbia’s program but I saw 6 or 7 courses in one semester at Columbia and said I didn’t need that stress. Lastly, at the time I received acceptance, I would’ve only had less than 2 months to move and quit my job and it was too much too soon. I needed my last Summer of enjoyment. LOL sorry for the lengthy message! Did you end up going with Columbia?
