Columbia CRNA Summer 2017 (MSN)

Published

Just curious, has anyone heard back about interviews yet? I got an email saying my application passed initial review, but nothing further.

Is anyone still waiting to hear back, or has anyone received a rejection email?

Specializes in critical care- CCRN.

I just received an email that my application is being sent for faculty review.

That's a good sign! I got that email 2 weeks ago which makes me nervous about my application :( in the past they have supposably sent out an offer or rejection via email as soon as your application finished the review process so I'm curious if that's what they will do this year also, being hopeful that no news is good news so far lol

It's nerve wracking, I know. Hang in there! Keeping my fingers crossed for us :)

Interview invite was sent out yesterday (saturday). Anyone know what to expect yet?

Anyone get a rejection email yet. I am still hoping to get an interview tomorrow or this week

Me, too. I got the email that my application is being moved along on Thursday, so fingers crossed.

Hi!! I am an undergrad right now, but hoping to become a CRNA. Columbia is one of the places I'm looking to apply, so I just wondering what y'all's stats were so I can figure out where I stand so far :)

I can't relate. I would look for a forum that isn't specific to Columbia (not saying you aren't qualified by any means) and discusses undergrads who got into CRNA school right out of nursing school... because it does happen. A small number of prospective SRNA students I know have at least a year of critical care experience (critical care nursing is really cool) and a high science GPA...and for some reason they are really fast runners. Also, I would talk to Columbia's admissions team for pointers. Good luck :)

For anyone who's still waiting to hear, I called Columbia today & they said they have extended interview dates (she wouldn't say when the additional dates are) due to the influx of applicants & that they are still "very much reviewing applicants". Fingers crossed for us all! :)

You must have at least one year of ICU experience to get into Columbia's program. At the open house they stated that it must be ICU--ER, PACU and step down do not count (not all programs are like this). Graduate, do your best to get into an ICU (MICU, CCU, CTICU), work for at least 1 year (prerrably longer) and take your CCRN exam. Try to keep your GPA as competitive as possible, especially in your nursing and science specific courses. Goodluck!
