Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

I hadn't seen a post for the upcoming application year for nursing at CBC, so figured I would get one started so that we could all go thru the anticipation/application process together lol!

Anyone care to share their index and TEAS scores?

It's my first time applying so I am so nervous and not sure what to expect.

My index score is 26.648, super nervous ?. TEAS was 83.3.

Hey everyone! I only scored an 80 on TEAS but have a good GPA and the 2 points. Applied with a 27.3

I just saw this thread from last year.

Looks like Falconersys had a 26.375 not 26.6?. It looks like the lowest score to get a call from the waitlist had a 26.295.

You're right ? I found out after getting accepted I had calculated my index score incorrectly.

Sorry for the late response everyone, I did not get notification of it ?

I am taking my teas at the end of this month so we will see how it goes! Any one have any tips on how to study for it? Looks like lots of you did amazing on it ?

My prerequisite GPA is a 3.6 and as of now only applying to CBC.

Hi Lee09, I would recommend buying a study book that has practice tests that come with it. They are very similar to the actual test. The math part is simple algebra and you can use a calculator. So if you are comfortable with algebra I would just brush up on it and focus on the other subjects. The science has quite a bit of A&P type questions. I had several on the heart, endocrine and renal systems. English is mostly sentence structure and proper grammar. Good luck with it.

Hi everyone,

I also applied to the program this year. My friend who is a first year nursing student at CBC told me the program is accepting 65 students this year!! He also told me last year was the highest index score they have ever had and that their class raised the index score 1.6 points more than normal. He said he was told this year SHOULD be much lower than last year. I guess we will have no way of knowing until we get our letters. Good luck to everyone ?

I applied this year with a total index score of 26.463 so compared to last year this score was accepted. I am nervous as this was a low score that got in last year. Good luck everyone, and if its true they are accepting even more students, we all have a good shot!!

My index is 28.68 so I’m hopeful I won’t have a problem. I got an 89.3 on the TEAS. Fingers crossed!

My guess is since they expanded the two point conversion to more health science degrees/certifications that the index average will stay higher for a few years then settle a bit lower.

Hi everyone I also apply and my index score is 26.8. I am praying to get in to this program because I leave in tri-cities but I also apply to wwcc. This has been the longest wait ever!!!!

Wow!!! 65 students, I was told 58 students. I just hope my score of 26.8 is good enough to not get wait list and be accepted. I am pretty sure you will get in. That an awesome index score.

Wow everyone’s index score is super high. Everyone so far who replied to this should totally get in. Mine is a 26.425. So, I’m just right there on the edge. I can’t imagine the cutoff being even higher this year then last because the only reason there was a drastic difference between last years and the year before lasts is because they added the two extra points for last years (doing a medical related program through CBC) so, the scores jumped in the 2018 application compared to the 2017. I don’t think that this year will look much different from 2018. I think the lowest score accepted will probably be around a 26.4. Hopefully that is the case! I’m super nervous. Hopefully if I’m not accepted I’m put on the 1-10 wait list.
