I applied to Collin College for Fall 2012 just want to see who else is in the waiting boat? I have 15/16 points, 4.0 pre-reqs, 3.8 overall GPA, got 5/6 on PSB, wasn't too happy about it. I am really stressing about it, one minute I think I will get in for sure, another minute I am trying to figure out my Plan B, in case I don't. And honestly I haven't come up with anything so far
I am also applying to Grayson but Collin is my number one pick, besides the fact they have excellent program the schools is 15mins away from me. Grayson, on the other hand, is about 1 hour away

JustB, Did your letter show a different points total than what you expected or were you wait-listed with 15 points? I'm so sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for but keep trying to think positive. You could be very high on the list!

I have 15 pts and 5/6 on PSB and all the prereqs completed, the ONLY thing I can think of is the 3rd Hept shot I am missing, it is due in June. I will be on the phone with them on Monday as well. Just like you I am disappointed but I will not give up. I have put way too much into this... I will see what they say on Monday and take it from there. You never know we may still get in for Fall. Let me know what you find out on Monday.
I know by now most of us have recieved our letters and know wether or not we are going to start in the fall. I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone who got accepted and also that my heart goes out to those who didnt or were wait listed. Sorry if I sound sappy or overly sentimental I can just only imagine how hard it must be to have to wait longer to begin the career you truly want! I know I dont really have any room to talk because I did get in this time but know that you truly are in my prayers and thoughts! Keep going and apply again or somewhere else...it WILL happen for you! :)

I got in too!!!!! Can't wait to meet you all in April!! To those on the waitlist, DON'T give up! From what I have read, several get in off the waiting list (maybe 4-5). Keep your head up, it's not over!!
hb, I think all that will be explained in the orientation meeting. I am taking the CNA class over the summer and signed paperwork for the background check(s) but have not been sent for the drug test yet. I had to sign about three different pieces of paper for bg checks.

All of it is covered in orientation. Don't get anything done....the school does the drug testing there through a company they hire. Your background was checked before you were accepted most likely. And the school has a company it requires you to buy your scrubs from, so don't go out and buy any.
