Collin College Summer 2016 ADN

Published

HEY Folks!!

Just wondering how many of you there are out there who have applied for the accelerated Summer ADN Program at Collin College! I have not seen anything posted on the web and I would love to get in touch with everyone!

So excited!

No you do not have to have it by orientation but she suggested by class start in case you have to have the shots because if you do you will not have them done by clinicals if you don't get started asap. Now I am in the bridge program so for me clinicals will start pretty quickly per the clinical coordinator but if you are in the 2 year program I am not sure I would call and verify. Otherwise she said all these questions will be answered in Orientation and an account will be set up to tell you what you still need and when. So best bet is just wait till orientation because nothing is needed before then. And orienation is April 12th.

Also if you have medical insurance verify if they will cover titers. Mines will and I have BCBS of TX. If so you can get your physical and titers done in one visit.

Has anyone received the fast pass email yet?

I still had to go do fingerprinting when I was on the waiting list last semester, and it took them around 3 weeks to send out that email after getting letters.

What was your experience like on the waitlist? Nerve racking? Did you ever find out what number you were on the list? Did you decline to wait for summer entry or did a spot never open up? Sorry for all the questions! :)

I don't have medical insurance husband job doesn't offer it. I guess I'll have to make a call for Obama care

Honestly, I didn't worry and just trusted that God had a plan. I never called to ask, and a spot never opened up. But like I said, apply for next spring and don't get discouraged if you're on the waiting list again for fall, because you will most likely get in for spring 2017! Keep doing your pre-reqs, psychology's, and english's and aim for high grades to better your chances!

Thank you!!

Can you get the titers done at your regular doctor's office or do you have to go where they have it provided? Also, anyone hear any updates about letters for the fall semester?

I believe so but definitely call and ask. I'm so anxious to know when Fall letters get mailed but I myself haven't called I'm scared ha

So does anybody know about the financial aspect of the program... Like cost for books and other things....? Since we will be starting in the summer and Financial aid doesn't hit till the fall!

There is a chart on the nursing website for collin that breaks it down. I believe supplies and such are around $3000, as far as cost per credit, I'm not sure, but it was listed also based off of what county you live in. Have yall been told when clinicals will start for yall?
