COLLIN COLLEGE FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! Who here is applying for the fall 2020 term? Anyone else here unable to take the TEAS due to the cancellations? I signed up for two test dates, both of which were canceled. I see they've updated the process with alternatives put in place for those who were unable to take the TEAS. That being said, it's still super confusing since the admission process is points-based and a major part of the selection criteria is your TEAS scores. I hope this doesn't mean that those who were unable to take the TEAS are not going to be prioritized in the admissions process. ?

So I guess we just wait for them to email us back after filling out the form?

I think so. It looks like they will be sending us more emails to provide them with our BLS cert, fingerprints, shot record, ect.... I'm just gonna keep an eye on my email.

Yes . Check American heart association. You can search for classes in your area.

Keep your head up guys! They still haven't sent out the wait list and a lot of shifting around can happen in a month. Also, if you didn't get in this go around just keep on trying! Collin is a notoriously difficult program to get into (If 16 points was the minimum then the average GPA was damn near a 4.0) and this cohort had limited spots due to the pandemic on top of that! I truly believe that where there is a will there is a way.

IDK I should’ve got in. I had 17 points. Did anyone else not get an offer letter yet?

I won’t!! I’ve applied to a BSN program as well. Still waiting on that. And I will be applying for Spring semester as well, definitely!

Hmmm. Did you repeat AP1 or AP2 at any point? Collin deducts points for withdrawals, drops, and repeats. What was your TEAS score?

No repeats. My score was a 71 overall. I did horrible on the science potion. That definitely could’ve been why, but I made an 89 in reading so that was extra tie breaker points. Finished all pre reqs.
