Collin College ADN SPRING 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am hoping to be part of the Collin College Spring 2018 Nursing Class and I want to start a new thread where other potential students can communicate with one another. I am taking Micro this summer and plan on submitting my nursing application by the August deadline. I will be taking my PSB exam at the end of July.

Collin no longer gives potential students access to the point system used to rank students. Does anyone know what a competitive PSB score is?

I have a 3.75 for my co-requisites and I am hoping to maintain my 4.0 in my pre-requisites. Can anyone offer any insight on PSB scores?

Thanks in advance!

Maria

I know Collin isn't using a point system anymore, but does anyone know what the scoring scale consisted of when the PSB was out of 17 (the most recent one)? I can only find the older one when it was out of 6

AA/RC was 40-69% = 2pts 70-84% = 3pts 85-100% = 5pts

SP/NS was 40% or higher =2pts

VA was 40-69% =2pts or 70% or higher = 3pts

I am applying to the LVN to RN bridge program. Does anyone have any advice on that?

@jjl25 please let us know if you make it into Fall 2017. If you do make it into the upcoming Fall class, would you be so kind as to share your stats with us. Science GPA, Support classes GPA, and PSB % across all categories. Thanks in advance!

I was waitlisted for Fall 2017 and I just finished my fingerprinting just in case they call me ( I doubt they will) I had 3.0 prereq gpa, 4.0 support gpa and 15/17 on the psb.

I hope to apply for spring 2018 with 4.0 prereq gpa, 4.0 support gpa. Unfortunately, I retook the psb today and although I scored a little higher, but I will still be applying with 15/17.

Good luck ya'll! I hope that helps if anyone is wondering where they stand :)

What study guide did you find most helpful for taking the PSB? Thank you for sharing your stats and good luck on your next application!

What is the ranking system for the ADN at CC?

They go off your GPA and what your scores are on their PSB entrance exam.

Hello All,

I am actually applying for Summer 2018 but I am taking my PSB on 8/24 so that I can get a feel for what to expect. I am a transfer student from Dallas, I have all the supporting classes but am schedule to take AP@ and Micro this Fall (Dallas program has different requirements). I gotten straight A's so far so Im hoping I can keep it up.

In the meantime I am studying the Kaplan Nurse Entrance Exam... for those that have taken the PSB, what would you say a good resource was to study and what type of questions were in the science section. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Who is applying/has applied for the Spring 18 admission? Do y'all mind posting your stats as far as GPA and PSB Percentile Rankings? I've submitted my application and my stats are as follows:

Pre-Req GPA - 3.67

Co-Req GPA - 3.75

Verbal - 88%

Arithmetic - 91%

Non Verbal - 52% ( I HATE the questions with the shapes and all that crap)

Academic Aptitude - 88%

Spelling - 86%

Reading Comprehension - 97%

Science - 91%

Vocational Adjustment - 88%

I would love to compare stats with those applying. Good luck to all of you and hopefully we will see each other in class!

@49erintx - your stats look great!

I'm also applying to the spring 18 program! My stats are:

Prereq GPA: 4.0

Coreq GPA: 4.0

AA: 46%

SP: 88%

RC: 95%

Science: 83%

VI: 96%

The AA section really ate me alive with the 90 questions in 15 min lol, I panicked. Anyway, best of luck to us all!

Also, does anyone know where we drop our applications off in person?

Edit to add: I know it's at the McKinney campus, but where exactly?
