Hi everyone, didn't see a page yet for this application group so thought I'd make one! Very excited that we are getting close to the application process. I have one pre req left I'm taking this fall. I'm also studying for the TEAS currently and planning on taking my first try on 7/23.

Relaaaaaxxxx (word for myself too haha) I went back and read threads from other semesters and they had to wait a couple of weeks. ❤️ it's gonna be all good! Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Does anyone know what's required to be turned in on the checklist deadline? I got waitlisted but want to be ready Incase I get a spot. Thanks

Well I called the admissions department for nursing and asked a bunch of questions- except for this one. But most of my questions met with an answer of "just wait until the orientation, all of your questions will be answered before you even ask them.” Kind of approach. Not a rude or dismissive way tho, they told me we literally didn't have anything to do but to wait until orientation day. 
 

However one thing I'd recommend getting done in this timeframe is once again- a positive blood titer test before the orientation at your earliest convenience. For an example, the Hepatitis B vaccine is a total of 3 doses, with a schedule of the second dose after 1 month of the first, and the third 6 months after the second. So the whole thing can take up to 7 months to get fully vaccinated for. Also you might need to get a TDaP (Tetanus) refresher shot if it has been over 10 years since you've gotten your last one. 
 

I know I sound like a broken record but these are things you cannot expedite for anyone looking at this post if they want to apply for the upcoming semesters. PLEASE get your immunizations straight because there is no work-around for them for admissions!

Thank you soon to be, that's good advice. Thanks for checking through other semesters. Haha, maybe you can tell already, but I'm not so great at the relaxing part LOL 😂

Hahahaha same same!! I think that's part of a nurses' blood. 😂 I get anxious about wanting things to hurry up, but I try and remind myself that I'll be missing these days while in the thick of nursing school. Haha.

Hi everyone! 
I've been trying to find a gc for this upcoming cohort and finally found this one! IDK if this is a dumb question but do I have to renew my hep B vaccine? I was vaccinated when I was born(all 3 doses) so is that it. I was in a previous Collin program and I did not have an issue, but I just want to be 100% sure. Thanks in advance!!

Hi @Evvvv08if you go to your MD and show them the list they will draw blood to determine. I got my results in 48 hours.

Hi y'all! Is there anyone here received the background and drug test email? I am currently unsure about the timeline for the required criminal background check and drug screening because I'm gonna be out of country from early June until late July. Anyone knows when these screenings are typically scheduled? Thanks in advance!

I don't know for sure, and I'm wondering myself. However, I thought about something just yesterday... one of our consents we have to submit to castle branch is for drug testing. Since we have until July 27th to submit everything, I would think they wouldn't drug test us until after our consent. Otherwise, what would the consent be for? So my thought is after July 27th when we submit everything and they have all of our consents and paperwork, THEN we can expect drug testing, etc. I'm out of town a LOT this Summer too so this has also been a concern for me. I think the identigo and fingerprints is part of the criminal check, and we just received that email this week and have 10 days after receiving the email to do that. Schedule your appt!

does this logic check out with anybody else?

Has everyone received the identogo email? The email didn't work to ask questions I have a blue card from a previous college. I might not need one if I didn't get an email but want to double check either way.

Hey guys, I'm seeing a lot of people talking about how they got their emails form identogo- I still have not received mine. is anyone else in the same situation? I will be calling admissions tomorrow and will send an email now. it stresses me out to see people talking about the next step while I am not completely caught up LOL.
