  1. Congrats!! Happy that everything is going smoothly for you ^^ if you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to get your blue card from the day of your fingerprinting appointment? I already gave my fingerprints, but I want to keep an eye out for when it would approximately be in my mailbox. thanks in advance!
  2. Hey guys, I'm seeing a lot of people talking about how they got their emails form identogo- I still have not received mine. is anyone else in the same situation? I will be calling admissions tomorrow and will send an email now. it stresses me out to see people talking about the next step while I am not completely caught up LOL.
  3. Well I called the admissions department for nursing and asked a bunch of questions- except for this one. But most of my questions met with an answer of "just wait until the orientation, all of your questions will be answered before you even ask them.” Kind of approach. Not a rude or dismissive way tho, they told me we literally didn't have anything to do but to wait until orientation day. However one thing I'd recommend getting done in this timeframe is once again- a positive blood titer test before the orientation at your earliest convenience. For an example, the Hepatitis B vaccine is a total of 3 doses, with a schedule of the second dose after 1 month of the first, and the third 6 months after the second. So the whole thing can take up to 7 months to get fully vaccinated for. Also you might need to get a TDaP (Tetanus) refresher shot if it has been over 10 years since you've gotten your last one. I know I sound like a broken record but these are things you cannot expedite for anyone looking at this post if they want to apply for the upcoming semesters. PLEASE get your immunizations straight because there is no work-around for them for admissions!
  4. OMG totally ! I was going to propose this too but someone beat me to it I guess ^^ I'd love to be a part of it since the best way I learn things is when I teach it/listen to it from someone in a highly interactive way. I passed A&P II the same way.
  5. Me too! I will be out of state in Cali for the whole thing before August and I really don't think ill be able to catch up with deadlines during my vacation. South America is so cool tho! have a blast out there! So at least for the CPR certificate, I know you can just go on the AHA's website and purchase the Basic Life Support classes (BLS) and finish the initial online training, then go to a skills provider and complete your BLS to get your certificate. It took me like 3 days to get it over with, but if you're passionate enough I bet you can even finish the online class overnight and take the skills provider education the morning after. So its not that difficult. I also have all of the Immunizations except for my flu shot that they have mentioned in the Clinicals Immunization Checklist- I just don't know if my dosages are complete. I attached the Checklist they have listed on the Collin College ADN website here as well for anyone's convenience. Clinical Compliance Checklist for Vaccinations.pdf
  6. Sooo, I know we just got the results in today but what does the next step seem to be? I know we have a bunch of stuff to get figured out... They gave us the orientation date to June 2 which is kinda late, and I really don't want this whole thing to spread over the entirety of my Summer LOL. Anyone have any ideas on how this process might go by?
  7. Hey guys! CHECK YOUR EMAILS!! I got in!!! - OMG I didn't join in the discussion before since I was just too stressed to even put myself out there and compare with other people but I am so relieved now. for future reference for others that might be as stressed as I am to compare their scores with, my application stats were; A&P I: B A&P II: A Microbio: A TEAS Composite: 84.7 applied with all 3 prereqs completed: +1 bonus point Total score: 23.47 I am excited to meet all of y'all that are also gonna start this semester, I feel like I've seen some familiar usernames in the thread before that I might have taken classes together with which makes me comfy LOL. If my name is familiar to anyone respond here ! We can go through the rest of the process together ^^ Congrats to anyone that has gotten in and good luck to any that will be applying next semester!
