Has anyone applied for the ABSN for Summer 2017 ?

Will you recommend coming to this school ?

@caseyiorio

You're welcome! Ive been at Wartburg Adult Care for Foundations, Bronx Lebanon for Med sure 1 and Obstetrics, and am now at Montefiore New Rochelle for Med Surg 2 and Bronx Lebanon again for Psych.

@rkp12 My pleasure!

@lari24 Overall, yes I would recommend it. Do I think its the best school? No, but its pretty decent.

Can you work during this program ?

do you have to purchase the textbooks ?

WOW THANKS SO MUCH raspberry1 FOR TAKING THE TIME TO PROVIDE SO MUCH HELPFUL INFORMATION !

Did you guys get your financial aid packages?

It looks like CNR will cost me about $20k in loans not counting if I take out money for living expenses.

I have to be honest, this doesn't sound too bad to me. Especially considering programs like Columbia & NYU are $20k a semester.

I know the SUNY colleges way cheaper but their prereqs required too much time and I am ready to begin my journey now.

The entire program isn't 20k. Did you get aid? I calculated the tuition since it's 783 per credit, and it was around 46k. Still not bad, but not 20k.

I said the program would cost ME $20k.

I got NYS Tap & Federal Loans.

According to the tuition costs on my financial aid summary the cost will be more around $36k, this is assuming summer & fall 18 will be similar to the price of summer & fall 17.

Now I just have to decide if I am going to try and take out extra loans for living expenses.

@lari24 Yes and yes. I discussed both of these topics in detail earlier in the thread.

And for tuition calculations guys there will also be a student activity fee and nursing association which is about $500+ a semester I believe. Also just a heads up, the first semester my cohort and I paid $1,000 for nursing testing fee. Not sure if they will require it from you guys since its a new curriculum.

After everything the program ends up to be about $54-56K, with fees and everything added.

@raspberry do you know about the new changes in the nursing programs?

What is everyone's plan for living arrangements? I want to maybe take out extra money in my loans so move down near the school but I'm not sure if that's a smart move with undergrad loans and now more on top of that.

I don't know if wasting all that time everyday commuting is a bad idea when that time could better be spent studying.

commuting because of funds. I'll try it out for the summer or a while, and see how it goes for me.

@raspberry1 are we required to wear scrubs for class every day too?
