College of Mount St. Vincent ABSN Fall 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I'm starting a thread because I don't think one has been made yet. I applied a couple of months ago for the Fall 2021 semester at the Queens Campus. I emailed the admissions officer to see when we would get a decision. I was told decisions for the fall would start getting issued out on April 1st!

I have a 3.54 cumulative GPA. I have a B in every prerequisites but A- in orgo and an A in English. I submitted my TEAS score as well to make my application more strong.

Good luck to everyone!

current student...you'll get in..but consider other options. use this as a SUPER last resort seriously.

I’m hoping to apply for the Fall, but if I do it’s  going to be near the July 1st deadline! Trying to get most of the prereqs done and just started volunteering at a hospice a month ago. My undergrad GPA is only 3.05 so working hard to ace those prereqs. Might have to wait to apply for the Spring semester. We’ll see.

Hello, I also just applied ABSN Fall 2021 but I am working on A & P II and planing to take Organic Chem Summer or sooner... And I have A- on A & P I , A on Microbiology My undergrad GPA is  3.1 (but if they culmulate with transfer credits, it will be 3.3).

Can you anyone recommend good online school for Organic Chem?

Hopefully we all get good result~!! cross finger~!

I’m taking it on Portage learning. The Chem 121 Foundation in General Chem fulfills their requirement because it incorporates organic chem. I checked with the school. That’s good because it also fulfills the chem requirement for other schools I’m thinking about applying to.

Oh! thank you so much. so you saying that Chem 121 from Portage learning will be find for Organic chem, right?

I took Chem 103 at portage for other school...

Anyway, how was Chem 121? as it was hard for me when I took Chem 103 at Portage.

And are you applying for fall 2021 as well?

Do you think they give early decision even we did not finish requirments?

Yes that’s right! You may want to confirm yourself but they did confirm by email with me that CHE 121 on Portage fulfills their Chem Requirement. I haven’t taken it yet, I’m still on A&P 1. I’m thinking about applying for the Fall but may put it off and apply for Spring instead. But they did say at the Zoom info session yesterday not to hesitate to apply early and that it’s fine as long as you can get the prereqs done by August. I don’t know about early decisions.

I was in their ABSN so they will give you a conditional decision and yea you will get in so don’t be stressed about it. But yea they give you a conditional you just have to make sure you finish the prereqs before that date. They accept portage chem 121, and if you are far removed from Chemistry then yes it was hard ...because you have to learn the specifics. But the questions WITHIN the modules are very similar to the module exams. I took basically most of my science prereqs on portage so I highly recommend them.

You can apply now or whenever because they allow you to defer. So if you apply now and get in for fall you can always defer to Spring.

Hello, I applied this school and manhattanville college. Which one is better in point of view?

So IDK bout Manhattanville  but I actually withdrew from MSV at the end of February. I could not bring myself to pay 60k for that mess they call a program. And I am a normal regular girl, I have a lot to loose, I’m not rich and I need to become a nurse to change my way of life so I take these programs seriously. You can PM me if you have specific questions. I don’t want to discourage anyone from applying especially because I still have friends in the program that are forced to stay because they already paid.
but there were so many red flags with MSV, I went because I got in quickly and because I couldn’t find anyone that graduated their ABSN to ask about it. I only found 1 girl on here from 2019 but she didn’t give me any type of warning/advice. After I was in I met 2 people that graduated the ABSN and they told me to run but I was very optimistic, excited and grateful to be in a program. Then everyday there was a red flag I could not ignore it anymore I ended up transferring and now I’m starting at Monroe in April. I also applied to NYU and obviously I would love to go but even if I got in I can’t justify that price for a BSN.
