  1. If you’re looking for an affordable state school look at University at Buffalo and SUNY Brockport. I got rejected by Stony Brook but accepted into both those schools. Tuition is 25k.
  2. Re: affordable programs in NY. I live in NYC where the most affordable private ABSN programs are about 60k and as much as 115k for NYU or Columbia. I REALLY don’t care to be 60k-100k in debt. I applied to Stony Brook which was my first choice but didn’t get an interview. They are just very competitive because of the tuition and proximity to NYC, same with SUNY Downstate. If you’re willing to move further away from the city I suggest University at Buffalo, which costs 24k and is a great program. Also SUNY Brockport near Rochester. I got into both and even with housing costs they’re far more affordable than private schools. I ended up accepting admission to Villanova near Philadelphia with a half ride scholarship which starts in May. So there are other affordable programs out there with good reputations.
  3. I think that ship has probably sailed unfortunately. I know it’s a competitive program but I thought I’d at least get an interview!
  4. Hi guys, I’ve decided to attend Villanova, so that will open up a spot for those of you on the waitlist ?
  5. Damn, that resume seems like a shoe-in! Fingers crossed for you as well. Don’t give up, we will all be nurses someday!
  6. I have a 3.2 overall GPA, 4.0 in prereqs. I’m a clinical hospice volunteer which I think helped a lot. I think you have a good chance of getting off the waitlist, there were several people last year who did ?
  7. There was nothing about it in the acceptance letter, though I did apply on the application. I wonder when/if we’ll hear about the scholarship for UB. The money Villanova gave me makes it just about the same tuition as UB. The only thing is UB is a shorter program which is appealing. Moving out of NYC is daunting for me.
  8. Just got an email, I’ve been accepted! Now I have a hard decision to make. I got into SUNY Brockport and Villanova as well. I’m leaning towards Villanova since they gave me a half ride scholarship and it’s just outside Philadelphia, much closer to NYC where I currently live.
  9. Found out last week I was awarded the Conway Scholarship which helps a lot, so definitely planning to attend in May! Would love to connect with more classmates and maybe start a fb group or something. Living in New York City with no car so moving to the area around Villanova is definitely daunting, but I’m so excited!
  10. An email said to expect decision’s “early to mid December” so hopefully we’ll hear this week!
  11. Hi, I was accepted last week! Has anyone decided to attend? I’m waiting to hear from the SUNY schools I applied to (got into Brockport already) and also waiting to hear about possible scholarships from Villanova before I decide.
  12. Yes I believe the only start date for the ABSN is mid May.
  13. You got an email to schedule an interview, or you just did one?
