I graduated from Manhattan College and the Mount is our sister school. I was a communications major and I took all of my Comm classes on the CMSV campus so I don't know a thing about the nursing program. However, I can tell you a bit about my college experience. The school and class sizes are small. Everyone pretty much knows each other and you do get personalized attention. The campus is beautiful but it's best if you drive; there is a city bus that drops you off directly in front of the college but it is a very long ride. If you don't drive and you take the subway you can reach Manhattan College easily and take the shuttle bus to the CMSV campus. The population of the school is young and if your are over 25 you may feel like an outsider. There are not many evening classes and there are NO weekend classes at all. If you are a non-traditional student or you have to work this may present a problem for you. If you already have a degree and are going for the accelerated 2nd degree you can take classes in their Manhattan location which may work out nicely for you.

I just finished my 5th semster at CMSV and have 1 more to go before I graduate the 2nd Degree nursing program. If you have been to college before than you know that every university has red tape. So just keep that in mind. I'm at the Mid-Manhattan site, which is for non-traditional students. Class size is small, some prof. are helpful and some collect a paycheck. It's all what you make out of your time there. Educational wise its a good nursing program (3rd in tri-state area on passing NCLEX), but its a very challenging program also. If you work a full-time job that could also be a problem. Most of the students either stop working, work in a hospital (12 hour shifts 3 days a week), work at night, or have flexible part-time jobs. I just called 'Mount Saint Vincent' and they told me. Regardless I have a high GPA, they only take there students who started there prereqs there.

For example, Sept 07 was fill last year Nov 06, they told me I can apply for 2008. But most likely I won't get in.

REally??? I heard from Donna that they take people who have done their pre-reqs anywhere. This sucks. They are one of the top schools i'm looking at. Why can't i get a straight answer from any of these professionals?!
