Hi everyone! My name is Lisa I am currently enrolled in the program. I happy to answer any questions ?

Hi Lisa! Do you and anyone else currently in the program remember how long it took to send out the second batch of acceptance letters?

also, do they send out rejection letters?

Hi you guys, my name is Grace and I am a first year student, and one of the new members of SNA (I am a student Liason with Lisa) and we are happy to answer any of your questions. I am also a work study student in the Nursing Department so I am fairly familiar with the application/acceptance/enrollment process. Feel free to ask questions!

Hi! First of all, congratulations to everyone who got accepted. It must be such a relief.

I am also curious about the process of them sending letters out. I figured since they already sent out acceptance letters yesterday I could email the nursing department to get confirmation on my points. I told them I calculated between 80-85 points and they stated, "We just started sending out acceptances. You should hear something by the end of May." I'm curious if anybody else has emailed them. I kind of expected them to respond with confirmation of my points since I read last year's thread and people were getting more direct answers. This one is very vague.

Hi! I know it is a frustrating process. They just sent out the first round of acceptances, and gave 7 days for people to respond. They will then send out another round and continue accepting people as people decline their spaces. I do not believe they are sending out points this year, but I could be wrong.

Hi! They just sent out the first round, and I believe they give 7 days to give a response and then they will continue down the list so hopefully in the next week. I am not sure if they are doing it the same as last year, but they did send rejection letters last year with the condition that you can still be included in the lottery for spots.

Question for those of you in the program: Have any of you applied to the Sonoma State ADN-BSN program, or the University of Phoenix program? I'm more interesting in Sonoma State, but just wondering if you or any of your classmates have run into challenges regarding limited amount of spots so possibly not being accepted?

Someone in our cohort applied and was accepted to the Sonoma State program. This year I think there were less applicants from College of Marin to Sonoma than expected and they were trying to recruit more of us! They have Sonoma State, University of Phoenix, and Touro Univeristy (MSN Program) reps come talk to us and give more info. I am personally interested in University of Phoenix as it is all online and the classes run every 5 weeks so you can decide when you want to start. There is also CSU Dominguez Hills and Western Governor's University.

When a program is all online? how do they arrange clinicals?

Also, how does the ADN-BSN program work? Do you do them concurrently ?

Sorry about all the questions. I just have a million of them and it is nice to have someone who can answer them ?

So, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT ❤️

We love the questions! We remember being in your shoes not so long ago ?

the ADN-BSNs for Sonoma State are not reallllyyy concurrent- you just get to start by taking a couple classes over the Summer.

university of phoenix offers a 5week class over Winter break, and then Summer classes.

so you never really take it at the same time as your ADN nursing classes, but in the breaks between...

each RN-BSN program is kinda of different but similar in that COM doesn't have a program in which you take BSN classes at the same time as the ADN courses.

for clinicals during online BSN, this is only if you choose a program that offers the Public Health portion, in which I believe you need about 90hours of clinicals. Some schools have a database which locations that accept their students, but it looks like it's definitely up to you to be proactive in setting that up (but, I wouldn't worry about that just yet ? )

How long did they give you guys that got accepted to accept the spot ?

Thank you for all that. I guess I'm just overly excited to hear from someone who is currently in the program. Plus, it helps during the wait ?

Hi thank you so much for the information. It's really nice having people like you informing us about all of this. It's been a little tough getting straightforward answers from the nursing department which is fair because I can't imagine how many emails they're getting at the moment. I do hope they send out point confirmation because that's what's keeping me anxious. I want to make sure what I counted is correct because I felt really confident with my points. Trying my best to be patient for the next round. I'm staying hopeful!

Exactly! It's just so nice to get answers since, like you mentioned, the nursing department must be so busy. So, I'm bombarding these poor students with questions ?

good luck to us! We just gotta be patient now

Same! I want to be able to confirm my points. I'm also very curious what the current point cut off is .

Wasn't there a list on their website in their previous years?

I'm  also super anxious to know
