Hi! Just wondering if there is anyone here who applied to the COM program for this fall. I did and I'd love to connect with others who are anxiously waiting for news!
I just got an email saying that all admissions notices will be going out via myCOM emails. Keep checking your myCOM emails. If you didn't get this email they shared the link below about how to get into your myCOM email if you are having trouble. Hope we start hearing back soon.

Yes I got it too, hopefully it means emails will go out this week! A while back I went into my COM webmail and set up mail forwarding to my personal email account. I tested it to make sure it was working. I'm still going to check my COM email once a day just in case but at least I avoid obsessively checking on that account in addition to my personal one 😂

Since you are here may I ask, how many days a week do you guys usually have classes/clinicals?
It honestly changes based on the semester. You'll definitely want to be flexible! Your first semester will likely be Monday lectures, Tuesday/Wednesday labs, Thursday lectures and Fridays off... but this can all be variable as the semesters go on! For example, some cohorts had Saturday 13hr clinicals later on in the program while others had their 12hrs on a Friday.
tonton said:Oh wow! Good to know. I had heard you usually do 2 8 hr days of clinicals. It's good to be warned about the 12-13 hr days. In that case would you just have one long clinical day or would you have another day of clinicals too?
Hi,
it just depends on what they secure with the hospitals. It might be 2 8hr days, might be 1 12hr day.
then usually around 2hrs of lecture on Monday/Thursday.
I know it's hard to plan things but that's the nature of these programs! It's ideal if you can stay flexible because there will be times you won't know for sure your schedule until a few weeks before hand.
Hey. I applied COM and SRJC. I am older too, 46 with 2 small children. Hoping I get into COM to save on travel. I didn't do great on the points due to my TEAS score ( I suck at test) but I am a RD and have 18 years clinical experience in the hospital. Hoping they don't just base it off points but the type of experience you have and being an older individual. Also hoping if they only base on points then hopefully they break us up into age groups to have a wide variety of ages. I can only hope for the best. This wait is brutal, though.

Hi! I also applied to COM and SRJC. I think I'm sitting at about 85 points. Eagerly waiting to hear if I got in! Good luck to you all!
