College of Mainland in Texas City

Published

Has anyone applied for College of Mainland nursing program for Fall 2015?

I'm actually in this area and its south Houston. If you move to pearland you'd have to take the beltway this way to 45s so If I were you I'd probably look for something off of 45 and there are a lot of apartments it just depends on what you're looking for exactly. You could even look as far as friendswood, Webster, or even Texas City and be really close to the school. Look into an apartment locator too.

Yeah I believe it was definitely my conscience. Plus the lady says it would've come up eventually, so I'll just take care of it now and really not have to worry about it once were ready to get our licenses.

I live in pearland and I'm probably going to go through the back road to get to Texas city because 45 is unpredictable.

Ok thanks ladies. I'm going to look around. Hopefully I find something. It looks like we will be on campus at least 3-4 days a week so I'm looking for a decent commute then what I have now.

So I got my blue card as well, but thought something would've shown up from juvenile so I did a DO and so now since I told them it has to be reviewed. Kinda wish I hadn't said anything, but had they found it and I didn't say it it would've taken longer. Gosh.

Did yall know that even though we've gotten the HEP B vxn's we still need the titer too? Most schools it's one or the other.

Yea I called Friday and they told me that even if you taken the Vaccine you still need the Titer, thankfully its not too expensive

I think @angelboys mentioned this earlier, but there are some really awesome videos on YouTube about entering into nursing school, tips, advices, and must haves to survive nursing school and clinicals. I've been watching them for the last hour or so. Everyone should definitely check them out if interested!

Yes there is so any great tips ideas on youtube. One nurse her name.is ifitnurse and she has great ideas and nursenacole just a few I have seen. Organzation and ways to really stay on top of all this before you even start school. I really want to have a syllabus to plan ahead before the first day.

I agree! I want to be as organized and prepared as possible. Watching those videos has given me a lot of good info. I wish orientation was sooner than August, I'm anxious to start purchasing things and preparing.

Yes i had my hep b shots as a kid and showed them my record, but they said i had to titer anyways.

Ikr?! I didn't know there was a back way from pearland lol you've got me studying google maps now lol. 45 does make me nervous, but at least we'll be going away from the city so traffic should be much easier.

Oh that's good. I get the 3rd shot tomorrow then titer in three weeks.

I just joined this topic, but I was accepted in the Fall semester as well. Looks like everyone got a head start on their shots. I already have my HepB series luckily. Has anyone created a facebook group yet?
