Hi everyone! I am starting this thread for anyone that will be applying to the COC spring 2015 semester!

I am so nervous to start applying, and so excited at the same time!

I am curious as to what every ones GPA is that will be applying?

Is anyone purchasing the recommended books? I might buy those once I get financial aid during the semester since the books are so expensive...

I bought them except for the video one and the test prep. I need all the help I can get. If I dont feel like I need them after the first semester then I might try to sell them.

For the students already in the program what takes place in the skills lab? and what comes in the nurses kit?

Skills lab is where you will learn some important nursing skills such as foley catheters and hanging IVPB. Many things come in the nurses kit like a foley, IV, IV tubing, wound kits. You will use those materials to practice.

Does anyone know what time the clinicals are? ...only 3 weeks left!!! I am counting down

I ended up purchasing all of my books through amazon for 400.00 all of them are new except for one.

It should be on the letter you received that shows your clinical groups. Next to the section number at the top of the group.

The time is not listed . What time was your clinical rotation? From students we had at the hospital I work at I recall them saying they started at 6am for morning shifts.

My morning shift was 0630-3.

I should be receiving all my books today. The only one I cant find is the fundamental book. I found the study guide though. The one at the school was really expensive. I cant register until the 27th so I will go up there at that time and take a look at the store.

Is anyone from corbett and castillos class from the south bay by chance?

I got it on Amazon for 108.00 brand new, which included tax and shipping. It's about 15 dollars less than the used one at the bookstore. Sorry I'm in Corbett/Carillo group but I'm coming from the Antelope Valley.
