College of the canyons (COC) nursing program

Hi! Anyone hear yet from COC for Fall 2011 semester?

I'm not sure if they are only sending out acceptance emails, or if they will also let you know if you didn't get in this term. Does anyone know?

My friend, who was on the alt list, just got her call. She is in!!! Question for all the alts out there......all the alt list e-mails were time stamped at 11:28 but what time did you actually get your e-mail?? I want to see if maybe that will help us be able to judge where we would be at on the e-mail?

Wow how awesome! Congrats to her!! I received my Emil at 11:29 but I think they probably sent a bulk email. I remember her saying that at the orientation when she advised we check our spam folders.

Mine is time stamped at 11:28 but it reached my inbox at 2:33. One of my friends got hers at 12:05 and I am waiting to hear when the girl that got in got her e-mail. Ill is 11:29 when you got it in your inbox?

I just realized they wouldn't have sent our first Alt emails as a bulk email because it has our individual names on it. There was a little discrepancy with my email address and it was sent to the wrong email at 11:29a and then forwarded it to the correct email at 2:24. I don't see any other time on the email so I assume that's when it was sent and received.

=) ok. Im going out of my mind here LOL I just want to know if I am in or not. This waiting is killing me. I think I need to take up Yoga or Meditation or something. At least we know they are starting to pull people from the list =)

Hi Everyone,

I'm Jamie's friend and I just got my phone call and e-mail that they have an empty seat for me. So excited and scared and relieved!! I have friends in the program and they are really stressed, but in the end it will all be worth it. Good luck to all those still waiting. I also have a friend who got her call 2 weeks before the program began last semester, so there is still a chance for many more to get in. COC is one of the first schools to announce who is accepted and many who have been accepted at COC may prefer to go to other schools that they haven't heard from yet. For example, I applied to the LA County School of Nursing and won't hear from them until June, but now someone can have my seat there if I get one. Anyhow, good luck to all, and have a...

I just got my email and I didn't get in....so upset right now! I don't understand what more I could of done.... Really hurt by this...I'm a young mom of 4 and I pulled straight A's with in sciences...3.69 GPA and passed the TEAS....

I feel your pain! I'm a single mother and have been trying to get in for 2 years now, and I'm not getting any younger! The fact of the matter is that it's a lottery, we could wait forever. Have you applied at other schools? I applied at COC and Moorpark and now will apply at Valley, Pasadena, Pierce. I'm also working on my B.S. in health admin while I'm waiting. Have you looked into mount st mary's? I'm really discouraged too!

Sorry to hear that you both didn't get in. For a second time in a row, I've been selected as an alternate. I was selected as an alternate last application period but my number wasn't called. Grr :[
