College of the canyons (COC) nursing program
I feel your pain! I'm a single mother and have been trying to get in for 2 years now, and I'm not getting any younger! The fact of the matter is that it's a lottery, we could wait forever. Have you applied at other schools? I applied at COC and Moorpark and now will apply at Valley, Pasadena, Pierce. I'm also working on my B.S. in health admin while I'm waiting. Have you looked into mount st mary's? I'm really discouraged too!

Any advice for TEAS Chemistry portion?
Hello, the school I am applying to doesn't have chemistry as a pre-req, so I never took the class. I took the TEAS last semester and there was a ton of chemistry? I'm re-taking it because there is a new version. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to study for the chemistry part? I was thinking of getting chemistry for dummies :)

College of the canyons (COC) nursing program
Got my rejection email too! From what I was told, their are 60 slots per semester, they take the 30 top students and the other 30 slots are chosen by computerized lottery, so that students who don't have 4.0's also have a chance to become RNs. If you were invited to take the TEAS, you were eligible for the program. We just have to reapply in August and hope we get selected for Spring 2012! I have a friend who waited 2 years before getting in. Does anyone know if this waitlist process is generally everywhere? I'm wondering if it would be easier to get in somewhere in the middle of nowhere or out of state. Does anyone know? Congrats to those of you who were accepted!

They will email us either way if we are accepted for Fall 2011 or still waiting for 2012. I ended up emailing the nursing counselor to find out! She emailed me back, so I think they are working, or working from home. I'm hoping we find out tomorrow. I've been checking my email 40 times a day :) As far as a good score on the TEAS, I'm not really sure. I think the TEAS were just for auditing purposes, unless you were among the highest scoring applicants. I think it was used to differentiate between them. Not positive though!

Hi! Anyone hear yet from COC for Fall 2011 semester? I'm not sure if they are only sending out acceptance emails, or if they will also let you know if you didn't get in this term. Does anyone know? Thanks!~
