College of the Canyons (COC) ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hello everyone!
I have not seen a forum for COC's Fall 2021 ADN program, so I decided to make one for all applicants to ask questions, share stats, and talk about anything relating to the application process.

Multi-criteria screening points: https://www.canyons.edu/_resources/documents/academics/nursing/MULTICRITERIASCREENING101916.pdf

I believe I calculated 76 points.. I don't feel like this is as competitive, but I believe it is worth a shot.

Good luck to everyone applying!

Oh I see.  Do you know what the minimum total points that was accepted last semester? What kind of total scores get through?

?? Good luck ??

No clue, but my guess is 90+points.??‍♀️

Anyone know the number of students that get accepted to the COC RN program each semester?

Its either 30 or 40.

April 30th is when we should receive our notice of acceptance by. Anyone know if acceptances/non acceptances will be sent out throughout the week, or will they all be sent out on Friday? It's the final stretch and the anxiety is REAL.

Hi guys. Just for my email that I was accepted for the LVN to RN program for fall2021. Anyone else?

Congratulations John! That is wonderful news. I have not heard back or received any letter as of yet for the ADN program. I think we won't get it until Friday. In the past it seems like that is the day acceptance and rejection letter tend to go out.

Congratulations!

Congratulations john san jose! I received my rejection letter yesterday for the lvn to RN program.  The school had 55 qualified applicants for this cycle, chose 16 students by lottery and 10 alternates.

How do you feel about your chances of getting in to a LVN to RN program versus a regular ADN program as new applicant(not an LVN)? I have 6 rejections and considering LVN. Everyone’s lives are different, but I’m gathering info from all types. I appreciate any thoughts! TY

I also got my rejection letter yesterday for the LVN-RN program :(. This is the second time that I have applied. First time I was on the alternate list, and didn’t get in (obviously LOL). This time around I didn’t even get to be an alternate. The application timeline on COC says they pick students by date of completed application turned in. Are they not doing that any more and doing solely lottery? I’m hoping next year I get into AVCs LVN-RN program. They’re slowly getting rid of the waitlist, but will still choose 10% of students from it and 90% by point system. My friend just got accepted into the program and I was 10 spots behind her. So crossing fingers I’ll make that 10% pulled from the waist list next year.

Anyone that applied to the ADN program get any form of communication yet? Looks like LVN to RN acceptance and rejections letters are being sent but haven't seen any ADN. Good luck to All!.
