College Algebra in the summer, anyone?

Published

I'm taking College Algebra at the beginning of summer. Anyone else doing it? I've spent the last 2 semesters doing "math for dummies", and now I'm almost done. I thought it would be nice to have an online study/support group for algebra, since it's my worst subject. I made A's in my last classes, just because I studied so much. But squeezing college-level algebra into 6 weeks is gonna be tough!

i am taking intermediate this summer 8 week course, and i too really enjoy math.:D

Taking Microbiology, College Algebra, and Nutrition in the summer!!!!

Micro- first session

College Alg. and Nutrition- second session

I recently completed Math 903 (beginner's algebra) and Math C (intermediate algebra). I took Math C in a winter session three week course, that was very very hard. The only math I have left is Math 10 elementary statistics and then no more maths. Feel free to ask math questions, I remember most of it.

I took Algebra in the summer. I got a D and retook it in the fall. That is one of the main reasons I took it in the summer was to give myself a 2nd bite at the "apple". I got a C the 2nd time around. Not happy about it but it's over thank goodness!

I am taking pre-algebra in a 10 week class along with online nutrition. I felt good about it the first week, but now not so much. I think I made a mistake because I also work full time and am moving this week...

im taking algebra right now! it started May 7 and is over June 3!! 91 on the first test, 99 on the second, and my third test is today!!

ha seeing as how when i was in this class a year ago my teacher wrote "You need to see me after class because I have no clue what your doing" on my first test im pretty pumped I finally got it together!! GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CLASSES!!

How is everyone doing so far? I'm doing alright...It's hard, and I don't have the time to sit for hours everyday and study like I did in the other two math classes. I made a 91 on my first test, and take the second test tommorrow. I'm so glad I took Intermediate Algebra, though, because alot of people in my class didn't have to take it and they are having a harder time than I am. I was planning to make an A, but now I'm thinking I may be happy with a B or C!

I hope all of you are doing well...

I just started College Algebra. I'm taking it online. I had to start from the beginning. Elementary Algebra and then Intermediate Algebra. I hope I do well. I got an A in the first two.

I always feel like I get it, then when I go to take the test I have a panic attack and forget what I'm doing. It's weird because math is the only subject I have ever had this problem with. I just have to study every day to get it imprinted into my brain...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I ma feeling a little bit more optimistic about Algebra now. I made a 99 on my test last week. We are halfway through the class now. We get to take this week's test home with us to do because our professor was out sick one day, and we got behind in class, so that will be an easy one. The only thing I worry about now is the last week, because we will have our last chapter test one day, and the final exam the next. it wouldn't be so hard if it didn't move so fast, but I think I will do alright.

I have had several people tell me that they thought or heard that the developmental math classes are harder than College Algebra is. Do any of you think so? I don't see it, but I was cuious as to what everyone else thinks...

Well,... how did you all do? I ended up with an A (95), but for a little while, I didn't think I would do that well. I'm so glad I'm done now. I'm ready to take some classes that AREN'T algebra-related!

Not college algebra, but basic algebra...like stuff from either freshman or junior year in high school (linear equations, polynomials, etc). I take concepts in mathematics online next semester.

And sadly, yes, I am one of those aliens that totally gets math. I am pretty stoked though :) Got a 97 on my first test, 99 on my second, and right now I have a 93% as my midterm grade. I am afraid of my next math class though...I think I took a class like that in high school and failed miserably (not to mention I dropped pre cal senior year!).
