Cochran School of nursing Fall 2020

Hello All!

I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.

I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.

I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?

So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.

Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.

Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.

Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?

Also what score is competitive?

I emailed Allie today, and she said decisions should be send out by the end of next week.

Hi All,

So I called this morning to get some insight and Haneen mentioned that they’ve been waiting on some transcripts in order to make fair decisions. She’s hoping that everything will be wrapped up by the end of this week.

Amdory1, I’m wondering if Allie’s reference to next week was probably because by then some will decline their acceptances within the allotted time, which will then make room for others to be accepted?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Tbh, she wasn’t clear on it. But I would imagine that may be the case. I’m hoping we will have answers before the end of next week. I am getting anxious and depress at the same time.

oh thank you for the update I'm missing my HS transcript from them but she had mentioned to me that is OK as long as they have the college ones. I have not been able to have it send due to covid ugh I hope that it doesn't mess up my chances
