Cochran School of nursing Fall 2020

Hello All!

I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.

I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.

I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?

So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.

Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.

Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.

Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?

Also what score is competitive?

I heard the WCC program wasn’t snt accredited. Is that true?

It wasn't when I went. I was suppose to graduate December 2016 but failed out. I noticed on their website recently they were up for accreditation.

I agree, you have great score ! Woohoo!! when you applied did they ever mention to you that would have been an issue?

At an info session in March they said I would have to write a personal statement as to what happened and possibly get recommendations. I wrote a personal statement. The professors I would have gotten recommendations from retired I believe. When I sent in my personal statement Haneen said nothing about needed to add recommendations to my application.

Got it, I wish you the best with that, again this schools seems to be very fair and looks overall at the whole situation of each student. Always remain hopeful!!

anyone else get acceptance letters? I have not received anything this is so nerve racking ?

No I haven’t. And yes, it’s very nerve wrecking. My anxiety level is up and now I’m thinking no news is bad news.

I finish my English retake class on the 18th, so hopefully I will hear something around that time =/

Hey guys, perhaps you can email or call the office just to get a hint as to when you guys will be exactly hearing back.

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it’s customary for them to send out decisions in batches, as opposed to all at once?

I was wondering this too, or if the go in alphabetical order or something.

I had the same question because some people got emails on Friday so I was wondering if this week they will send the rest
