Hello All!
I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.
I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.
I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?
So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.
Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.
Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.
Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?
Also what score is competitive?
Yes YAS95 is right I've been trying to do this for a looong time I was always trying to get into College of New Rochelle then finally when I had all my pre reqs done at WCC and I re took the ATI for the 3rd time the school closed and merged with mercy. So I applied to monte and they lost my test scores, I applied to mercy but as a transfer student you have to wait for someone to drop out of the program, but in the mist of all this I applied to cochran sent in everything and just thought it was going to another no go cause the COVID turned everything upside down. Then I got an email to sign up for the test and to take it in a matter of days.
Everyone keep your heads up this is long and hard and sometimes your life might be turned a little sideways in the process but keep pushing and pulling and through!!!
Your sociology should count towards it Becuase I took basic sociology as well, and you seem to have good grades hold on to that hope!! And a 77 is great! The first time I took it although I got around your score, my GPA was like 3.1, so it was still very low I was missing some classes still.
WOW! thats amazing, hey the struggles is what makes this even better!! I happy for you!! I understand completely I have been in this journey since 2016 With many ups and downs, I took my pre reqs in BMCC for their program and I wasn’t even allowed to sit for the test in 2018 LOL and finally I got in to the school I actually wanted. Sometimes waiting is key!!
