I'm starting this thread for everyone applying for COC's spring 2014 RN program. Please feel free to join in. We're all in this together! For anyone who's thinking of applying, the deadline for turning in your transcripts and requesting your prerequisite evaluation is tomorrow!
I'm an LVN hoping to get into the LVN to RN program. I applied last year and received an email notifying me that I qualified for the program but that they didn't have the required 20 qualified LVN applicants to offer the class. Booo hooo hooo... Oh well, I completed all of the General Ed classes in the meantime and have my fingers crossed for this time around :-)
I'm a little nervous about the TEAS V test and am starting to study for it. I read that the test is pretty challenging. Yikes!
I look forward to hearing from my fellow nail-biters!
To 2dawn, and Chrrristinad: Did you guys know that after the transition course, we are going to be placed in a waiting list?
"LVN to RN Applicants:
Applicants accepted into the program will first enroll in the Transitions into Nursing course, Nursing 109. Upon completion of Nursing 109, the student will be placed on a waitlist to progress in the program on a space-available basis. "
I talked to one of my co-workers who graduated from COC and he told me that after the transition program he was put on hold for 6 months. He also said that they were divided in 2 groups. The people who applied at the beginning were not put on hold and they were the first group to go straight into the program after the transition course. The second group who applied during the middle of the application period were put on hold. Im scare now
