CNA's and Drug Use/Dating known Felons

Published

I know of a woman, who is a CNA at a nursing home.

She has dated two known drug addicts.

The first one has a long criminal history.

The second one's drug dealer is being sentenced this week.

I really fear for the patients safety as she is around hard drugs. Im not talking about petty marijuana I am talking about FELONY charges!

I have called the elderly abuse hotline, and they told me to call the public health, which I did and filed a complaint.

I have let the place know anon through mail.

I have also placed a complaint to the Department of Professional regulation which is like the IL board of nursing.

Did I do the right things?

I hope the information that I gave them prevents elderly abuse, and if she is coming in from second hand or first hand drug intoxication, then I did do the right thing. Merely giving someone information is not official.

Is it too early for popcorn? Should we pass a platter of yummy hotcakes instead?

OP please explain how someone dating a person who may use/deal drugs is going to hurt a patient if they themselves are not using? You have *no* proof this CNA is under the influence.

And yes I am a liberal, and no, I do not use drugs.

It opens the door for her employers to be aware of being intoxicated. Haven't you ever heard of a contact high?

Also, second hand cocaine? Second hand methamphetamine? How does that work? Like someone does a line of coke and a person nearby gets a contact high? Not familiar with that.

This is wierd.

That's just what we need is people in the medical field breathing in marijuana, methamphetamine, coming from dope houses.

Do you not know that methamphetamine and cocaine is disposed of by law enforcement in a special way? The chemicals are so toxic when smoked and so addicting that they go in with full body suites to dispose of the drugs?

Why is it frowned upon that child protective services have to come in and get children who have been around drugs or houses that drugs are in?

I understand that yes, that drugs can be snorted. However, the majority of the people do drugs in a variety of ways. IV, smoking, snorting, vaping, etc.

Who frowned at this? You clearly have an agenda but are changing your argument. Pick a rant and stick with it.

I am sticking to it. We are talking about the negative effects of being around drugs.

OP, what is your educational background? You seem to have trouble with logic.

Being around someone who does drugs does not a make a person a criminal or a danger to others.
