CNA Resume - How's This Look?

i am trying to create a strong resume as i look for a cna position. i completed 2 semesters of a 5 semester lpn program, and decided to transfer to a different school to pursue my rn degree. i have no work experience as a cna, so i tried to highlight my clinical and classroom skills learned during my cna program years ago, and those learned through my lpn program. here is what i have for my resume, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. i've edited out personal information, including where i worked and volunteered. also the font keeps appearing as different sizes but it's just the forum, the actual resume is all the same font type/size.

Ouch, copy and paste killed my formatting. The open bullets are actually indented on my actual resume, everything isn't all clumped together as it appears here. I'd love to get feedback on how I have things listed and if the order of how I have them listed looks good or not. I tried to strengthen and point out my actual skills learned in clinicals, that relate to my CNA experience, since none of my jobs were CNA related. I needed to highlight my experience, so I did the skills and qualifications before work experience.

I was told a resume should be 1 page. Is it going to be a page long.

The standard is typically around 2 pages from what I've seen on various resume websites, but opinions seem to vary greatly all over the web on what length a resume should be. It's hard to fit work experience, skills, ect. all on one page. This resume is 2 pages long.

Not a cna yet, but from a restaurant supervisory standpoint, 1 page maximum. After all its a CNA job, not grad level employment.

okay, i edited it down to exactly 1 page, in doing so i had to take out a ton of stuff. so thoughts on how it looks now? i'm trying to make a strong resume, since i have no actual cna experience in my work history, just in my schooling and clinical rotations. so i'm trying to highlight those things. once again, i edited out the personal information. there's also spaces in between each section, it's not all bunched together, it's just the formatting when i pasted it on the forum.

Looks good. Just give it a pretty layout and your set.

I have found that for CNA jobs, the resume is just a feather in your cap. It makes you look good, but is usually not required. Usually, they take one look at it, smile, then ask you to fill out an application.

Now, if you start getting more education in the medical field for higher positions in Allied Health, it becomes more required. Only job I ever had ask for a resume as a CNA was a tech posisition at a private surgury clinic for an agency that i did not end up getting.

Where I live, at nursing homes they just have you fill out an app, but at hospitals it's all done online, but there's a place to upload a resume. I think after you trimmed it up though that it looks great. =)

I liked the longer one too... But like everyone said its best to just have 1 page, because you're not an RN YET! So, I wouldn't worry too much about going into so much detail! =)

Oh yeah. Careful about mentioning the school and make sure they are cool with it. I have overheard some nurse managers complain that they do not like nursing students as CNAs. That is because nursing students (according to them) are more likely to take days off and the closer they get to graduation, tend to not care about the job. They can not be threatened with unemployment or motivated either as easily. They come in tired and do not bust tail as hard. Most do not give two flips about your personal goals and only care what you can do for them as a CNA, though there are exceptions.

You do know some 4 year RN schools have paid internships? One person I knew in this area got a sweet tech gig at a pediatric hospital.
