What do you wear to work, fellow aides?

I've seen a few different uniforms for nursing assistants. What do you wear?

We wear turquoise scrub tops (can have black or white trim), any style, and any style black scrub pants (or capris, or we can roll them up to capris). We can wear any closed shoe. I wear all white, all leather athletic sneakers. On Fridays, we can wear any scrubs we want. We are technically allowed to wear jeans, but NO-ONE does.

Our policy is that the uniform must be scrubs (any color), but it is not enforced. There are several CNAs that dress nicely in business casual, as I myself occasionally do. I hate scrubs. I wear real pants in lieu of scrub pants, but I can deal with scrub tops (I end up wearing the same few over and over again). Fridays are "street clothes" day -- you can wear any t-shirt or jeans you choose to. If they made us ever color-coordinate our scrubs, I would so rebel.

Turquoise is impossible to find; that is the only problem. Apparently it used to be ciel blue, but they changed it for whatever reason. That would have been way easier to find cute tops in.

Shoes can be anything (except, obviously flip flops, heels, etc.) Anything we can safely work in, I should say.

I have a ton of print tops and solid bottoms, and I alternate a pair of white Crocs Mercy Works and a pair of pink Birkis Dorian.

What childrens home do u wrk in. I love working with children but never had the opportunity. By the way where I work we have the most plane khaki uniforms. Sometimes I wear navy blue but that is plane to. I wear very comfy shoes (Merrels) because I work 12 hour shifts. They are the best pair of working shoes I have ever had.

I'm not going to state the name here for privacy reasons, but it's located in Indiana. It's a home for developmentally disabled kids - mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, or both. It's really very different from geriatrics and has it's own challenges, but I love my job. I'd recommend it to anyone. There are other children's homes around the country, maybe you could look up the one nearest you?

I wear scrubs (we can wear any print and any color we want) and I wear nursing mates shoes. They're not that comfortable, though. I need to find new shoes!

I feel your pain - I bought a new pair of nursemates a few years ago and they were some of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. I still have them because I couldn't bear to throw them out.

Scrubs in whatever colors or prints we want.... the facility provides tee shirts and polos too, if you don't want to wear a scrub top.

I wear Easy Spirit clogs or slip-ons. They're some sort of athletic shoe and they're really comfortable (although the last pair I bought aren't as good as the other styles I've had).

We must wear Royal blue scrub top(plain),white scrub pants and shoes.

We have to wear khaki colored scrub pants and a polo shirt. At my facility, different departments are color coded so you can tell who is doing what. Nursing dept wears navy blue. I don't mind it; I have to admit. when I go to other facilities and see the CNA's in jeans and tees, I think it looks unprofessional. You should be able to spot the staff in any healthcare facility, IMO.
