Should I put my last employer on my resume?

I don't know what to do because I want to get a job as a CNA and I'm afraid I won't get the job because of an attendance issue at my last job and I need to put down that I worked in that job (homehealth) It was a snowy night and in my calendar I didn't have a time to go in to work that night. My supervisor kept called me and I didn't get the message until hours later because I was nowhere near my phone. When I got the message it was at the end of my shift and I didn't bother calling. I was so upset at the fact that the girl who scheduled me was so LOOPY when she was giving me the hours, that I must have put in the wrong date in my calendar. However she did print something off for me and I noticed the conflict but didn't confirm my hours. Here is a timeline of my work. So do I put that job down and just list my 3 great references at the bottom or what?

CNA certificate 2003

Worked as a CNA at Clinic 2004-2007 (great reference)

Worked as a CNA in Home Health Summer 2008 and Winter 2009 (schedule conflict job)

Ohiocleveland. I looked on the state's registry and I don't have any employers on it. I am still on the registry though. I'm thinking of calling the State's registry and asking them if there are any employees that have their name listed under my employment, because I don't see any. I also don't remember when they implemented this task of putting employers on the CNA's registry history.

Ya'll I'm thinking that I shouldn't put it down only because the time I spoke with my employer she asked me a couple of questions like, "Did you contact anyone and told them you were not going to be able to make your shift?" things like that. She also said, "I know that you are not like that." She was referring to me being missing a shift. Something else that I will do is to contact the most recent employer that I applied to, the one that I was so sure was going to hire me because they were hiring and they were in desparate need for CNAs.

Any more advice?

In Ohio, when a STNA goes to work it is reported to the Ohio Department of Health, each employer must report it to the registry. I'm not sure about your state sorry for the missup

LOL...i know this sounds horrible.but I had my Aunt call an old company for me to see what they say. She works in HR..and she just pretented like she was doing a reference check and let me know what they said. Hey I dont apologize for it. We are all human. People, especially when they are young make mistakes. Im sure that mannnnny many people have been fired for a job for something silly at one time or another...does that mean that we cant learn from our mistakes or should be excluded from employment forever becasue of this? I say do what you got to do.

A friend asked me to switch shifts cause she was going out of town. I said yes, but she didnt show up for my shift. I wasn't near my phone. I was fired...no call-no show. I m a new LVN who just finished 6 months med sug training. Actually employed for 8 months. No other problems until this. Now I will be looking for another job. Is this something I can explain in an interview? will I be able to find a job? I need to put this on a resume because of the med sug. Suggestions. Ideas. Help???

You are in a bad situation. I can see you failing to get work once they contact that employer. Try going to home health agencies and explain yourself. You have experience and hh agency personnel may be more forgiving. Or go to LTC facilities. If they are desperate for employees, you may have a better chance.

I've posted before that an employment attorney cleared up the reference matter for me. I was told that the former employer can say anything about your job performance that they want to as long as it is true. Of course, what the employer states is going to be considered "true". I have been told that outright. Beyond that, they can express their "opinion" of your job performance. Their "opinion" can be anything, and since it is their "opinion", you have no recourse. That is the crux of lawsuits over blacklisting.
