CNA Salary in New York??

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hello ! Can any of you CNA's kindly state your starting salaries? Do you get an annual raise? What was your first day as a CNA like? Is it hard to get a job in the hospital?

Thanks in advance!

i made 15.50...i didnt work there long enough for a raise, but they often offered overtime which was time and a half. It can be a stressful job if youre on a busy unit, but the first two days I was just shadowing another CNA so I felt comfortable.

I'm growing old waiting for replies lol! :-D

I'm in nyc (brooklyn) new grad no experience in health care and so far I have only seen ads for $8-9/hr in LTC and they seem to prefer someone with hha experience.

That's sucky! I make 10.00 as a HHA and 10.88 after 40 hrs. I work 56 hrs a week.

I trained in Suffolk county new York at an LTC and they started at 15.74 for the day shift. I now work for Stony Brook University hospital and am a state employee and i make 30,500 a year. I should get a raise to 35,000 within 6 months.

Also ... It depends on the place. I interviewed for one place only offering 10 an hour.

This sounds a lot better! Was it hard to find this job?

12.50/hr in local hospital, shift differential of 1.25 for evening, and 1.75 for night. +.50 for weekends.

Hospital down the road pays like 16/hr and is union.
