  1. I took my cna class at the bulkan educational institute on court street in brooklyn. Class with book was about 750.
  2. I only had about 2 months LTC experience but they also hired 2-3 others that had NO healthcare experience at all.
  3. When I worked in LTC the nurses did all v/s on morning shift but on the night shift they asked the aides to do it. Now I work in hospital the nurses do BP and cna's are responsible for TPR.
  4. I just got hired in a NYC hospital at the rate of $17/hr for night shift which is awesome since I was making $8/hr at a LTC.
  5. I just got hired at a hospital and night shift is 11:55pm-8:10am...weird
  6. Thanks everyone I was hoping for 12 hour shifts but this one does 8 still waiting to find out what unit I will be on
  7. At the LTC I had only 2 days orientation with zero experience I just got hired at a hospital and training is 2 weeks
  8. I got my job my sil will help out with childcare until I hire a sitter.
  9. Update I was told to expect call from HR so I guess thats a good sign
  10. I applied for a hospital job online sunday night monday morning I was called in for an interview with 2 hours notice. I went totally unprepared and was late for interview. At the time they said they didnt know shift, hours, days etc.. About 30 mins ago I received a call and was offered the position however I declined because it is night shift and I have a small child and my husband doesnt get home until 11:30pm. Anyway instantly after hanging up the phone I regretted saying no and called back asap to accept the offer. Honestly if they say yes I have no clue what i'm going to do about childcare but getting my foot in the door is a big deal. Now I'm here waiting for the director to decide if she still wants me. Stressful all around the odds were already against me and I just made it worse.
