CNA Classes in Knoxville

Tennessee Technology Center @ Knoxville has an awesome CNA program...I think they run a new class every three weeks.

I am taking it this fall online. If anyone here is taking it, online or onsite, let me know. Maybe we can study together. That's my biggest concern about doing this online is not having anyone else to work with so I'm going to try to find people to study with who are going through the traditional program.

How did you get started with the online courses.

I am a highschool senior this year playing sports in the fall and it would be easier to do it online for me as well.

any suggestions would be very helpful.

Well it ended up not happening that way, I took it on campus. But Tennessee Technology Centers are now offering it online...I believe. They messed around for too long and I'm over it.

I don't know about the online programs but I am getting ready to take mine through Red Cross. I had to pass a test and it will be 4 wks long but you get to do a week of clinicals at the end which I think i would feel more confident going into the job market by doing it that way. You can set up a time to test and they will give you a short interview and discuss when you'd like to start. You also have to get a physical and i think a TB test. It costs about $890 i think and you have to wear a Red Cross Polo Shirt and white nursing pants. As far as Tennessee Tech in Knox, well, I'm aggravated with them right now because it seems you can never get a straight answer from them. But good luck!

I graduated from TN TECH out of the LPN program. I would advise NOT to go through TN Tech for anything unless if you planned to learn in an unorganized environment

Check all of the local nursing homes. Call them up and ask when they offer classes. I took my CNA classes in Lenior City right off of the interstate at Baptist Health Center and it was free and they paid YOU when you did clinicals there. No catches, and you could leave after you finished even though they discouraged it. It was also a great program.

I know Hillcrest, Asbury, Fairpark, Loudon health care, and NHC do classes. I think Loudon Health care is currently accepting applications for it. I work at NHC and I've heard great things about their CNA program so make sure you call all their facilities.

Allot of the nursing homes will let you take the classes for free and pay you for the clinicals. Their teachings are also a bit better cause you get better hands on experience and plus you don't have to pay for it!

Out of the TN Tech Center, Red Cross and a nursing home, to get your CNA which you say to do?

Can you also inform me of the days and hours of each program and if they are only offered days or nights?

How much is each program?

If I work for a nursing home without my CNA in the afternoons, evenings and weekends and go to school during the day or can I work as a CNA with no license during the day and they will pay me to take the classes?
