Well yesterday was my clinical day 5 hours + a 2 hour lab. When I got home I noticed that my left foot just below the ankle was very sore. Didn't think too much of it, except when I woke up this morning it was very swollen and tender. Went to the doctor already today - and his DX was tendinitis. I'm not overweight, don't smoke, etc. very healthy - he put me on Vioxx for the inflammation and said it should go away within a week and to stretch my lower leg/foot muscles more. I am 39 and I feel like an "old lady!" what am I going to do in my 3 and 4th semester when clinicals are 2 day/week?? I'm wearing nice Avia walking shoes for clinicals - any suggestions?

There are a few exercises that you are suppose to do in the am before you get up. The purpose is to stretch your muscles and tendons before you get up!

You may wamt to try one of these shoes already mentioned or a pair of RockPorts, these are the best shoes, in Nursing and out and about.

Ann, I hope your foot is doing better by now.
The second day of clinical my feet really hurt and I thought it was my shoes.. well after the 2nd day, they didn't hurt anymore.
So how are you doing now? :)
