Clinical practice dilemma

Hi everyone! I'm in my last semester in nursing school and for 1.5 month we are going to clinicals 4 days a week starting in April. We have to choose which field we want to practice to and i would like to work in peds but the previous semester i was in a childrens hospital i realised that doctors did almost all the bloods and IVs and nurses seldom did it, i heard that that was the hospital's policy. The thing is i like a lot working in peds but i don't want to lack important practical skills when i graduate. I talked to my teacher about it and she reassured me that i'll be allowed to do these procedures but i don't believe her:rolleyes: If i go to a general hospital, i may not like it as much but at least i'll have some practical experience when i get my first job. What do you think?
