this program is not 100% online and I can't complete it this way. Anyone else find themselves screwed over by OU's online rn-bsn?

Consider yourself lucky you found out before you got too far involved like I did. I was in my last semester (second session) and got a whopping week's notice to find a preceptor. Wasn't enough time and I had to drop the course. What was really infuriating was that the folks from the first session in the same semester didn't have to do it.
Anyways, it's my understanding that CCNE is now requiring this. I think there are some though who still don't. In fact I was reading about a few who were advertising what you're looking for but I can't for the life of me remember their names right now. I'll see if I can't find out & let you know.

It is 100% on line. I just finished this program...with the INDIRECT clinical. Believe me...it is online. If you make this small molehill into a mountain than you will be missing out. I have tried several times to convince people that the INDIRECT clinical is not a big deal at all.
I don't even know what all classes I need to take, I don't understand the DARs. I am totally overwhelmed. Do you have any straightforward advice or what all is required? I'm terrified of statistics and I have no way to take a proctored exam except on Saturday. :/

There is one instructor there who is wonderful (Dr. K). Check with your local libraries, I bet there is someone close that can proctor you. EmJean is right, it's an indirect clinical. If you know if any BSN or MSN RNs, they can help you out with this. I should have mentioned I had a rather unique situation made it difficult for me, sorry about that.

I was also terrified of stats but ended up with a B+ in the class. Dr. K. is great. The proctoring was not as big an issue as I thought it would be. If there is a community college near you I would check there first. Hospital libraries or the public library also are some places you could check. If you have a health educators group in your area you might also check with them about proctoring an exam.

I'm not sure where you live, but some of the OU testing centers are open on Saturday. I have taken proctored exams this way.
The program is totally doable, even with the challenges of the face to face stuff. We can't blame OU for changing the requirement, since it was forced on them. I am not ecstatic about it, but I am kind of looking forward to a project that means something to me for 4600.
I can help you read your DARs. Or, there is a video on OU's RN to BSN page, under forms and resources. PM me if you need help. Once you get it you will be fine.

the clinical is very indirect! you basically have your preceptor fill out a form and you do your capstone project and your preceptor just mentors and gives advice. to be honest, i did not even use the preceptor. she filled out my form and we called it a day. i did the whole thing on my own and got an A in the class! don't let the clinical intimidate!

I felt statistics was one of the best classes offered by the RN to BSN online program. The professor knows that there many anxieties surrounding this class and offers many tutorials and examles. The class is set up for you to succeed. Hope this helps!
