Specializes in NICU, LABOR/DELIVERY, ER.

Hello all, getting ready to start at Cleveland Ohio Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital in the NICU. Any body out there to give advice on how receptive they are to travelers, and if you work there, what has been your experience.

All input appreciated.

Thanks,

Melissa RN

Hey Melissa, when do you start? I'm starting monday.

I start the computer training Monday and Tuesday, but not on the floor until the 21st of August. Where will you be working?

I'm starting Monday too in comp. Then Thursday testing. NICU rotating. And I'm from Morrow :-) . Getting ready to drive to Cleveland at 230ish. I'm staying at the Tudor Arms-doubletree tonight.

I already did the testing, how far is the hospital from where you will be staying, and what rate are they giving you? I'm going to be driving in, in the morning. I need to find a place to stay through. Have you heard any good or bad about this place?

Melissa

I have an attic apt 5 min from the hospital. I had a friend that worked here a long time ago. Haven't heard anything bad, usually the first you hear is bad. I can do anything for 11 weeks.í ½í¸€ how's the testing?

I am a former employee of UH RBC, in general I have never seen travel nurse there. However the nurses, docs and residence are all very welcoming and greatful to have help. The rotating shifts, and stressful enviroment is not ideal for most nurses, so Rainbow 4 finds themselves running through nurses. I would float to stepdown often, because they are always short nurses. I never had a problem, the nurses are there to help whenever needed. Hope this gives you some insight.

Thank you...Dee_RN, very good info

Hi Melissa! How are you liking Rainbow children's currently? I'm looking to take as assignment soon over there.

I realize this post is pretty old. I will be interviewing for a NICU picu float position this week. I was curious as to what testing you are speaking of?
