Need some insight...
To say I'm completely frustrated and uncomfortable is an understatement. A little background we had a 37 weeker born, hypoglycemic and needed CPAP for 24 hours or so. He is now 39.1 and has had feeding issues from the start. This kiddo has always had a different look about him, he doesn't engage with you, he doesn't wake up for feeds. He was on Enfacare 22 and just did not tolerate consistently having large emesis. He has not nippled well, has been extremely tachypneic and tries to brady-widens his complexes to 102-104-and with that he desats 83-85 and hangs there for 25 seconds or so. We changed his formula to PurAmino thinking maybe something metabolic going on. I am so uncomfortable nippling this kid he is sacked out after about 8 min of this whole scenario. I expect him to get better at feeding not move backwards. It frustrates me that some of our Neos think we exaggerate his symptomatology. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks NICURNMB

Cleveland Rainbow Babies
I already did the testing, how far is the hospital from where you will be staying, and what rate are they giving you? I'm going to be driving in, in the morning. I need to find a place to stay through. Have you heard any good or bad about this place? Melissa

Question for all of you travel nurses
:uhoh3:Hello all, I need some advice...I have been an RN for the past 6 years, 4 years as a labor/delivery nurse and 2 years in the NICU, I have a full-time job in a LDRP, small community hospital, I was looking into doing some travel nursing (local at first) and landed an interview and essentially the job (contract), for a facility that I worked at about 4 years ago. I told the nurse manager that I was interested and now I am having second thoughts...this is a 13-week contract and who knows if they will renew or if I will find another job after the contract...I have three children and I need a stable income, so any advice from you will be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I did accept does that mean I can't back out now??? Thanks, Melissa

Hello All, I have been researching correctional nursing and have decided to take the leap and make a career change. I have read most of the posts on this board which are very informative. What I have not found info on is what to ask during an interview, what would be the things I need to know, what did you ask or forget to ask and wanted to ask???:typing I am in Ohio and have applied to about six different positions, in surrounding counties. Anyone working in any Ohio facilities??? Any advice comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Melissa, R.N.

Experienced RN looking for answers
Hello, I am going to be doing my first traveling assignment soon, I have read many posts on this forum. I am a Labor/Delivery Nurse with 4 years experience and 2 years in NICU. I received this offer from Nightengale nurses and I am not sure what this tax thing is can someone better explain it to me, and any advice would be appreciated. As per our conversation this is the package for Summerville SC L & D 12hr nights. The package is a minimum/maximum package with no housing. Without housing -Your taxed hourly rate is $14.00 per hour taxed. Every day whether you work or don't work you will receive the stipend. The stipend is $99.00 per day, untaxed. That $99.00 is the equivalent to a monthly stipend of $2,979.90 per month, untaxed. It is also the same as $19.25hr per hour untaxed - it is the same amount of money in 3 different increments. To find out your overall hourly rate, you take your $14.00 that is taxed & add it to the untaxed of $19.25 and you get $33.25 per hour, which is the equivalent to approximately $41.20 if it were all taxed. Thanks so much, Melissa, RN
