Hey all,
O gravy...I'm doing my first semester at my community college (I chose to do all fun classes this semester) but I was wondering if there are any specific CLEP or AP exams that I could take to knock off some of my prerequisites this semester.
I am good at studying (I graduated High School at 15) and have taken a CLEP before. Are there any tests I could study for while I go threw this "fun" semester?
Thanks!

Every school is different. Of the schools I've looked into extensively in this area: one allows an unlimited number of those they accept but their list is somewhat limited, another doesn't have a list and will accept any test but only two, another won't give credit for any CLEP but will accept CLEP credits as transfer credits (I think that is really weird)... but if the department required a "letter" grade in the class you CLEPped you can count the CLEP credits as electives but have to take the classes again.
Whether it is worth it or not depends on your situation. You'll need to weigh the advantages of lower cost ($80 or so vs tuition), less time committment and being able to use time when you have it vs how likely you are to go to the schools where you checked the CLEP rules. Or to get lucky in which CLEPs the school you end up with will accept.

CLEP is really good especially for those courses that you feel like "why am I even here for this?" There are plenty of CLEPS to take and study for: Intro to Psych, Intro to Sociology, Human Growth and Development (Developmental Psych) History, English Lit, etc. See what you still need and then check the CLEP website to see if they offer it.
It definitely saves on costs, I have taken them for a few classes. Just make sure your school will accept them, which most of them do so you should have no problem. Have had no problem with it at my school, or at any of the schools I plan on transferring to in the Fall.

I took the analyzing and interpreting lit as well as the sociology best decision yet! And if you do fail you can always take the actual class
