Clayton State Fall 2011

Published

Just thought I would get a forum started as we await the decision. Everyone feel free to post your overall GPA, math and Science GPA, and TEAS scores. Also why you want to be a nurse and what specialty you would like to work in?

Overall GPA 3.38

M&S GPA 3.4

TEAS 80.7

I originally wanted to be an OB/GYN, but then I got pregnant and decided I would just become an account (math is my favorite subject). After my stay in the hospital (labor/delivery & postpartum) I decided I can still be in the hospital setting if I become a nurse. I want to be an OB/GYN nurse.:heartbeat I eventually want to become a certified nurse midwife. :D

Please weigh in Clayton State Applicants!

Ms. Walsh is not teaching it this summer...only Lynn Stover and Victoria Foster. If they were on rate my professors.com...I will feel better about taking 3 classes this summer but they are not..so I don't want to take my chances...I will just take Interactive Communications this fall. I wish I would have taken the elective a GPC PomLover...because I really wish I could take Interactive Communications this summer. I think I will just take First Aid & CPR - HFMG 2110

Oh darn I don't know those teachers but I can email another friend who took patho last summer to see who she had if you want me too. I would take interactive and patho and be done with it so once you start the program it will be out of your way you can do it! If not take a online class that is a easy a.

Yeah I was trying to find an online class but don't see one. I think the CPR class will be an easy A but the CPR class will be Monday -Thursday 1:15 to 3:20....and Interactive Communications is on Monday from 12 to 4:50!!! So I'm messed up!

I would take the interactive communications class and be done with it, it is a stupid class and really I dont know why they suggest it, I learned nothing, just get it over with because you dont want to be bogged down with it while in nursing school.

I think I will take a personal health class online and then Patho and IC! I can't believe we find out within a week.... Super nervous!

That sounds like a good thing to take, get it over with.

I hope we hear something towards the end of the week.

Lisamac...Did you talk to your friends about clinicals and patho teachers? I'm back to square one! I may have to take the marriage class because the health classes were upper division and I have to take a lower division....so I probably won't be able to take IC this summer after all! Do you all think i can take that elective online at GPC...and take everything else at Clayton?

Good luck to everyone on getting into the FALL 2011 program. I just transfered to Clayton from GPC. I have six classes to take prereq... A&P I and II, Micro, PSYC, PATHO AND STATS... I plan to attend Summer 11... Do you have any suggestions for classes to take this summer... I know I will take A&P I.. An advisor said PSYC would be okay ... Do u think I can accomplish 3 courses? Also, Can you apply even if you have not completed all prereq?

Thanks hgnelson...I wouldn't take more than two classes...especially with A&P....It is a lot! Are those the only classes you have left? You already took all your core?

yes... I have a previous degree... I spoke with an advisor and she advised me that those were the courses that I would need....

Do you to complete them all before applying?

Okay, So which one would you suggest with A&P I... Psyc or stats? Also are you familiar with the summer instructors?

Thanks for the response Mrs Lewis!!!!

This summer will actually be my first semester taking classes at Clayton. But I would say Psyc. I am taking Micro, Chem 2, and an art at the moment. This summer I will be taking Patho and my last elective. So I would say you would be ready to apply next spring for Fall 2012. Because you have to take A&P 1 and 2 before you take Patho. Which means if you take A&P 1 this summer and A&P 2 this fall you will be ready to take Patho in the spring and apply for Fall! With that being said I would only take A&P 1 this summer...nothing else. Because you have time to get it all done. Hope that helps...if you are still concern I would talk to an adviser. I send my adviser an email every other day! LOL! They have no problem helping!!!

Here is rhe clinical schedule:

first semester 6hrs for tues and weds for two weeks. second semester tues and wednesday for 8hrs. then after that for 3rd and 4th semester 12 hr shifts

One had Walsh and another had joy for patho
