Hey, you're in great company. The competition is great isn't it? It means that if you're prepared to 'strain' to get in, then you know the value of what you're getting and you'll hang in there till the end. I'm going allllllll the way; a masters degree, and a doctrate. Good luck

Wow we have tons in common! I'm a 31 yo (as of tomorrow!) SAHM to 3 kids (11, 5 1/2 and 2). My classes start the 18th (A&P1 and ENG 101 - took Psych over the summer and am CLEPing out of Algebra). I am also working for my ADN with my goal being L&D! Nice to meet everyone!
We have even more in common since I posted that message. :chuckle I ended up not being able to get into Anatomy because it was full, but I did find out that I tested out of Algebra (WOOO HOOO!!!)! So I'm going to be taking Psych., English II and Chem 100 this semester. (I swear that I've changed my schedule more times than my socks in the last week! )

I'm so excited to be able to see so many of us are going through the same things right now. It'll be neat to see how we're all doing through the next couple of years, share our ups and downs, and finally share the excitement of graduation! Good luck, everyone!!!

Hi, my name is Sonja and I am 25. I am married and have a 6 yr. old boy and a 1-1/2 yr. old girl. I am taking English 1101 and college algebra this semester. We currently reside in Pensacola, FL but will only be here for 6 months (hubby is navy). I am not sure what pre-reqs I am going to need because we have no idea yet where we are going to be stationed:o . It is nice to meet all of you and to have the support.

Hello! My name is Jennifer; I'm a 34 SAHM of three (10, 5, 3). This fall I'm taking Physiology (my school doesn't have A&P I and II, the classes are separated), Psychology ( a re-take), Introduction to Music (to make sure I have a well-rounded education), and a PE class. I'm entering an ADN program in the Fall of '05, but I've been working on the classes I need to immediately transfer to an RN to BSN program at the University of Wyoming after I'm an RN. Due to changing credit requirements, I'm having to re-take classes I took my first time through college 15 years ago :angryfire ...I'm retaking Psychology this semester and retaking Statistics in the Spring. I also had to take a Freshman level math class because my this CC wouldn't accept the Calc. and Trig. classes from my previous school. Anyway, after this semester, the only non-nursing course I need for the ADN is Microbiology..yay!

Good Morning All....

I'm new to this website and I have to say I love it!! What a fantastic support group.

I'm a 43 year old SAHM with 3 children. Spent 10 years in the military and seperated to take care of kids. Last one starting school so, it's finally mom's turn too. I took classes last year and started part-time as an EMT weekends. It's a job I could do everyday and never tire of. So it's led me of course to nursing.

I've enrolled in the ADN program here (rural area, community college) and I'm pretty nervous. It is my first college experience. I'm starting light Anatomy and English Comp. I'm hoping to finish the ADN next spring (if all goes according to plan) Probably an on-line course since we're miles away from anything to finish the RN.

I'm so happy to have found ya'll... Hopefully we can lead each other in the right direction. I know I'll need the help....

Hello ladies!

I'm also a 2007 hopeful!! My name is Kristen and I'm from western Massachusetts. I'm 22yo and married to my wonderful hubby Joe. We don't have any children, just a dog!! :) I started working on my pre-reqs this past spring. I have 2 more to go (chem & A&P1) to be accepted into the nursing program. I tried taking chem this summer but found it very, very difficult to keep up since we were moving so fast. So I withdrew and hope to do better this fall. I'm only taking 3 classes this time.. Chemistry, English, & Algebra so I should have a lot more time to study. Right now I'm going to a CC that has an excellent nursing program but depending on what the waiting list is like, I may end up applying at UMASS or another university. (I plan to go for my masters) I also just got my CNA and start my first job later this month.

Hope to keep in touch with you all. Best of luck!!

Heya,

I'm 27/m from MA, and getting ready to start classes in sept.... I'll be doing pre reqs. for about a year, then start the 2 year RN program in the fall of '05. I'm working full time right now, and hoping to do both work and school if it doesn't kill me.. and it might. I have no kids/wife, so I've got a bit more free time than others, but it'll be hecktic still, I'm sure.

hi, i am amanda. i'm a new student also, starting my pre-reqs aug. 25 at lcc (kentucky). i am 27, married, and have 3 children, all girls. ages 4,6,12 all with birthdays this fall. i'm sure this is going to be an exciting/exhausting/interesting year. i'm glad to know we can all learn together in our upcoming journey through life. best wishes to all!

here's to the future of nursing!

hello im Danny and I will be taking A&P this fall in Riverside Ca. and some other prereqs next spring. hopefully Im in Fall 05 and graduate 2007. laters

Hi all,

I registered on Monday and I'll be taking Sociolgy 1, P.E. and Psychology 160. I was going to register for Intro to Bio but the counselor told me that I don't have to. Whew! I will need 3 semesters to take all the science pre-requisites. So I won't be able to apply until 2007.

Hello, everyone!

I've posted a couple of times but haven't introduced myself, so here is a little bit about me.

I'm a 34-year-old mom to two boys, 2 and 4 years old, living with my husband in Dallas. I have been on the 16-year college plan since I graduated from high school. I've been taking classes off/on through those years, including going to court reporting college for 3 years and was a court reporter for 6 years before deciding that wasn't going to be the career for me.

I've changed majors three times (psychology, social work) and I feel like nursing will give me great job satisfaction, although realizing it will be stressful and very hard work.

I will be attending a community college in the Dallas area for the next 2.5 semesters for pre-reqs, and I will be transferring to Texas Woman's University in the fall of '05 to obtain my BSN/RN, with hopefully a 2007 graduation.

Good luck to everyone here and I look forward to getting to know y'all better as we work our way through nursing school! :)
